Thanks for asking. He's been doing very well. He's been wearing a defibrillation vest for the past 4 weeks and will have another EKG on Friday to determine if he needs a pacemaker. We have a TA planned for Oct. - will just have to wait to see...

There can be a lot of "red tape" in proving your claim. I know as I just got out of the hospital, and had to send a LOT of proof from doctors/hospitals.

3. The "Trip" is defined as "a period of travel away from home to a destination outside the insured's city of residence".

 

The "return date" is "the date on which the insured is scheduled to return to the point where the trip started".

 

The "coverage ends" "the earliest of:

• the date the trip is completed
  
• the scheduled return date
  
• the insured's arrival at the return destination"
  

They don't explicitly say "door-to-door" coverage but seems to me that a reasonable person would read this as same.

This is troubling.

What happens if someone is stranded and not yet home on the SCHEDULED return date? That could be due to weather, accident, illness, or equipment delays, etc.
