Cabin 8294 Serenade of the Seas

Do you mean 8594? I don't see 8294 at all! At any rate, you're on the hump, which is a very convenient location. You shouldn't have a noise issue from stairs and elevators as they are in a foyer that isn't clearly shown on the deck plans. Some do report hearing music from the Centrum, but on deck 8, it shouldn't be loud or last very late.

We sailed on Serenade in #8596 a few years back on a Panama Canal crossing and loved the cabin! It's location was perfect. And we never once noticed any sound issues from anywhere. I'd pick that cabin again in a heartbeat!!

We have sailed in #8594 and had no noise issues. There is a partition/wall which sort of sets the cabins in this area away from the Centrum. We had no issues as I said with noise and it is a great, convenient location...also great fore and aft view from the balcony. Have a wonderful cruise! :)

Another question....are the balconies larger than other cabins as I have read on some review sites?. Thanks!

On Radiance class ships (including Serenade) the balconies at the extreme front end and back end of the "hump" are somewhat larger than standard. Cabin #8594 balcony is standard size. If you can, look at a deck plan. If the balcony appears bigger or smaller on the deck plan then that is usually the case in reality. There may be some exceptions ,but not many. Im sure that #8594 is a standard size balcony. Have a great cruise!:)
