Labadee Cabana Check-in Procedure

This is our first time at Labadee with a cabana. We rented an overwater on Nellies Beach. What is the correct procedure for check-in? Many have said find a golf cart near the gate first. Is there a check in desk? Any help would be appreciated.

We were directed to an area to wait for a golf cart just inside the walled area. Once the cart arrived, the driver asked to see our excursion ticket indicating the cabana, and then we hopped on for a short ride to the check-in area. There were attendants who took our ticket and then escorted us to our cabana.

Very simple process! At the end of the day when we were ready to return to the ship, our cabana attendant called for the golf cart and we were driven back to the pier.

If your are among the first to arrive, I understand you may have a choice of cabanas. When we rented ours, we were the last ones to arrive and were assigned #10 which a handicap accessible one. We loved the ramp down to the water even though none of us needed it. #9 is also handicap accessible and the two cabanas share the ramp. The other cabanas on that side of the beach either had steps are a ladder that got you down to the water's edge. Stepping of the ladder and you ended up in water up to your waist. I would not think that would be good for families with younger children. As I said, I guess it depends on how many people get off before you and claim their cabanas. Only one person needs to claim the reservation. The rest of the party can join them later if that works out better for your group.

I know I am bumping and old thread....sorry

I am planning on getting off the ship early to get our cabana, how would everyone join me later? Just walk / take the tram to Nellie's beach and find our cabana? Can I tell the number in advance? How would they know where I am (it is not like I can text them).

My girls might like to sleep in, I will walk off the ship and claim our cabana while they do the morning endless girl routine. I want to figure out how I might make that work. Thanks!

Yes just tell them to take the tram to Nellie's Beach and the people at Nellie's beach will get them over to the right cabana.

Just FYI - we arrived pretty early, within 30 mins of docking and we didn't get a choice on which cabana we had. The girl had a clipboard already with everyone's names and assigned cabanas.

To be able to use a cart we had to show our ticket that said we had a cabana and when we were leaving we didn't even get a ride back to the ship, so we walked.

The post before mine pretty much answered my question before I could see it. Since I will be one of those rushing off the ship to my cabana, I wondered how soon after the ship arrived did they begin letting people off.

When you have a suit, which I have never had, but anyway, your concierge contacts you about 2-3 weeks out from your sail date to ask if you want a cabana. Suit guests use Barefoot Beach and have the upgraded buffet lunch. Many people have said they have contacted their concierge prior to the call and told him that you want a cabana and it is taken care of. I think I would try emailing your concierge and telling him you want a cabana. The only thing he can tell you is that you have to wait until later to be assigned one. The cabanas on Nellies Beach are open to the rest of the ship and, from what we are reading on this website, have to be reserved after you get on the ship.

If we are lucky enough to get a cabana (we are in a grand suite) on labadee, do you need to tip the golf cart drivers and cabana attendants and if so, what is the proper tip for them. This is our first time a suite guest and want to do everything we are suppose too. There will just be two of us in the cabana. Thanks!

The driver I gave a $1 per person each way. Our cabana attendant was great so I gave him $20 when we left. I may have given him more but there was just two of us. I also gave him $5 after he arranged for us to go to the buffet at Barefoot beach (we were at Nellies).
