Finally talked my hubby into a 7 day cruise on the Breakaway November 16, 2014. Help me pick a cabin. Haven penthouse forward. Does it matter which one? Thanks!!! I'm so excited.

Good for you but I didn't think you had even got him to complete his first one yet - how did you do it?

What floors are you looking at?

Did you book a H7?

Yes I did. Cabin 11706.

DH is actually excited. He was asking me questions last night about the ship and looking at pictures. I'm so thrilled he's in 100%. This man never takes a vacation. I even told him I would pass on going to Vegas this August but he said I should go with him. We go to Vegas every august and February. Him for work me for play lol.

Good for you :D. I was a Vegas first cruise second guy during the 80's. After the 1987 stock crash could only do one or the other  (yes I know poor me ..lol). We've been cruising ever since. I think our last trip to Vegas was in 2004. He will get hooked..have fun. :)

I'm counting on him getting hooked that is kinda why I got a suite I thought he wouldn't like it as much in a regular cabin so why not start him off in a suite lol

I'm doing the exact same thing! Finally talked him into taking a cruise so figured if I start him off in a suite then my chances might increase in getting him to do it again!:D

Our mothers didn't raise no fools LOL great minds think alike when is your cruise? Oh never mind I see it's on the Pearl in December. I actually picked the pearl in October but thought for my DH first cruise starting him off in our home town port would be better lol

Is that because you gave him drinks again?

There aren't a ton of pictures or info out there (here) on the H7s but there are a couple if you do a search - maybe try the various room #s.

I talked my husband into going on our first cruise in the summer of 2012. He hated the idea of getting dressed up for dinner, being forced to sit with strangers, and "being trapped on a boat with thousands of other people." I did some research and discovered cruise critic and NCL. I just knew that I would love cruising and wanted him to really love it also so when I got what I thought was a great deal on a Bermuda cruise on the Star in a penthouse I booked it. We had a great time. We are taking our third cruise this summer on the Gem. My husband of course, only wants to be in a suite. I got my wish, but it is costing! I have to select non haven suite ships only because the suites on the newer ships are out of my budget zone. I would rather do the Bermuda route again but the suite prices on the Breakaway are too high for us. One day...

There is a method to our madness. I wouldn't even consider making my DH go on any other cruise line. I know him and another reason being in a haven suite is because I can guarantee he will want room service a lot. He doesn't like to go out to eat with all the "humanoids" as he calls them lol so being in a suite is best of both worlds. Don't get me wrong I will drag him to the dining rooms but he sure does like his late night room service goodies. When we go to Atlantic city he orders everything but the kitchen sink for snacks lol. I can not wait for him to finally relax for 7 days although he's asking me already about internet sheesh this man. I guess with owning your own business you tend too worry more but he has not taken a real vacation in a very long time.

Geri, my husband sounds just like yours! He does not to eat out often and loves to order room service. We go to AC often and we joke that for me its to gamble and for him its for room service! My DH loves the butler. Having dinner on your balcony is a good compromise for us. He gets to stay away from the humanoids and I get a romantic dinner. Win win. I do drag him to the resturants and he has even eaten in the main dining room and once (gasp) the buffett. He is spioled with Cagneys for breakfast and lunch. We have never found it crowded except for lunch on embarkation day. I have kept it a secret from him that you could order breakfast and lunch from Cagneys for room service. He would never want to go. I also have not told him that he could order any appetizer or dessert from any pay resturant without paying the cover charge. I feel sorry for our next butler if my DH discovers cc! There are just things that he does not need to know. I am sure you will both have a great time. Enjoy!

I couldn't find any cruises leaving out of Atlanta so we'd have to fly or drive to the port no matter where! But we'll do some sightseeing along the way. We've never been to the Kennedy Space Center and that's something he wants to do so we'll stop overnight in Cape Canaveral so that we can tour the Space Center and then spend a couple of nights in Miami and drive down to the Keys for the day. I'm just glad I convinced him to agree to an 11 day. He's not big on crowds so I figured the Haven would be a good place to start him at!
