Cruise Cash

I'm thinking about purchasing cruise cash for my upcoming cruise, so I won't have to put too much on my credit card after my cruise. Here's the question. I am sailing with a friend and we will each have our own separate account even though we are in the same stateroom. Will the cruise cash be applied to my account or will it get divided up between both of our accounts? How would Carnival know which account to credit since we are both on one booking even though we are each paying for our own expenses? Thanks for your help.

Each person has their own "folio number" on their S&S card. For example, when we've cruised we put $70 on our children's S&S card. When it's gone, it's gone, so you should be able to apply it to whichever account you want. No direct experience with cruise cash, but I would think that is how it would work.

When I called to Pre-pay my gratuities I had to pay for both me and my cabinmate. I could not pay just mine. I'd bet cruise cash will be the same... There's no folio assigned yet, just the booking number...

At the time you purchase the cruise cash you check the name of the person to whom the credit should be applied and the day you want it delivered to your room. I'm using cruise cash too and have been buying it each week since I booked sailing with my sister. She will be using a credit card.

Buy Carnival Gift Cards. You can put them on your S & S card when you get on board right at the kiosk, they don't expire and if you have a balance, they're refundable. Cruise cash may get applied to the booking number, are non-refundable and you can't use any leftover money for a future cruise.

I would agree to use the gift card if I knew I would be booking a regular future cruise, but I rarely do regular cruises. The group I cruise with each year charter the whole ship and we can't use gift cards. Just so happen that my upcoming cruise was FREE. I'm not worried though, because I know I won't have a penny left unless I win in the casino!:D:D

U were probably asked to pay the total because it was after final payment. Any changes to the booking (ie upgrades) would have to be paid immediately at that point.

I purchased cruise cash on my last cruise for both myself and DM (who was in a different cabin). It was applied to our individual folio, not shared with others in cabin.

Thank you! This was exactly the kind of answer I was looking for!

Isn't it true that you can apply cruise cash to your casino account and withdraw it that way? *curious*

Yep. Did it on 5/3 on the Legend. Had about $200 left of $ 800 purchased (didn't plan for drinks on us card at boarding - very pleased - and had a hard time spending it all.) All excursions purchased in advance.
