<3 2 Cruise Posted May 5, 2014 #2 Share Posted May 5, 2014 Memphis to New Orleans. (450 miles) 4 and 5 day trips. 4 day is pushing it. 5 day is more enjoyable. I have done a Cruise to nowhere from NOLA. Felt like I was in the car longer than I was on the ship.
christmas Posted May 5, 2014 #3 Share Posted May 5, 2014 Galveston (45 min) and New Orleans (5.5 hrs.) I mainly sail out of New Orleans because the prices are always cheaper.
nodogkisses Posted May 5, 2014 #4 Share Posted May 5, 2014 Like a crazy person I drove from Pittsburgh to Miami for a 3 day cruise in 2008. My daughter begged me to go on a short cruise since her boyfriend had just broken up with her. She was in high school and was supposed to be going on vacation with his family that next week. I (cruise addict) fell for it and we took a friend of hers along, too. Booked just a couple days before the cruise, airfare was crazy high so we drive. Had a great time and great memories were made. CoconutJD Posted May 5, 2014 #6 Share Posted May 5, 2014 Wife and I drove to Galveston (about 30 hours round trip) for a 5-day on the Triumph. I would do it again.
jwalk03 Posted May 5, 2014 #7 Share Posted May 5, 2014 Drove from Columbus, OH to Pt. Canaveral for a 3-day Disney cruise 3 months ago. I LOVED the Disney cruise, but I really dont think 3-days is long enough to enjoy any cruise. Needs to be at least 4 days with a sea day to even see an entire ship! txflood33 Posted May 5, 2014 #9 Share Posted May 5, 2014 Are we talking driving or flying? South FL to Seattle driving for a 1 night cruise is insane...if it were flying, no problem at all...I would probably try to see if I could stay an extra night in the city to hang out there 5 1/2 hours driving? No problem at all....I would look for a quick flight and put a value on my time and sanity compared to my budget

NMLady Posted May 6, 2014 #11 Share Posted May 6, 2014 (edited) Just wondering how far did you travel for a 2-5 day cruise . Was it worth it and would you do ita again? Sent from my iPhone using Forums We flew ELP to HOU to MIA to Puerto Rico for a 4 day Caribbean Cruise. That was 15 years ago. If my husband didn't now have mobility problems that make airport transfers difficult, we would definitely do it again. But nowadays because of air connections we make the most of our time by booking only cruises of at least two weeks. CruisinEars Posted May 6, 2014 #12 Share Posted May 6, 2014 (edited) We traveled from WA State to Florida for a 3 day Disney Cruise. My hubby had a work conference at WDW so we tacked on a cruise to make it a full week vacation without the kids. :D Edited May 6, 2014 by CruisinEars
Langley Cruisers Posted May 6, 2014 #13 Share Posted May 6, 2014 Our first cruise ever,we flew from Vancouver to L.A. for a 4-nighter. I'd do it again but the cruise would have to be a heckuva lot longer. :p Now 7 nighters are too short for us.

gooch47 Posted May 6, 2014 #19 Share Posted May 6, 2014 (edited) Flew from Columbus, Ohio, to Miami for a four night cruise. I won the trip at a casino. Would never pay for anything less than a seven day cruise, though. Edited May 6, 2014 by gooch47
misstiffany Posted May 6, 2014 #20 Share Posted May 6, 2014 About 300 miles from Tallahassee, FL to Port Canaveral for 3 & 4 night cruises. Reading everyone else's responses makes me think I'm silly for thinking that Miami (about 500 miles) is too long to travel for a 3 nighter. :(

SadieN Posted May 6, 2014 #23 Share Posted May 6, 2014 Around four hours on the greater Los Angeles public transportation system. All for a cruise whose furthest port is 200 miles from home. On the four day cruises the first POC is practically in the same county, Los Angeles. We live two miles from the Los Angeles County border.
