Taxi Fare from Istanbul Cruise Dock to Taksim Square

What fare should I expect to pay for a cab from the Istanbul Celebrity cruse dock to Taksim Square? Is the fare the same both ways? Is there anything else I should know? I have read warning about Istanbul taxis so want to know the honest price. Thank you.

It is walkable, although you will have to walk uphill a bit. I am 66 and did the walk easily.

Taxis are inexpensive, so if you don't wish to walk, it should not be expensive.

I also cannot help with the taxi cost, but I also walked it with no issues. But I did not take the shortest path up the hill. I walked there and back from the Galata Tower area along a busy business-filled street.

Taksim is only about a mile away, if that, so I would expect the fare to be well under 10 TL (which is less than $5).

We found that the taxi drivers who are waiting in the port drop off area want to charge a high rate, no meter. We usually walked, but when we needed a taxi we either went out on the street or we walked a block or so towards the bridge and then got on.
