az20101 Posted May 13, 2014 #1 Share Posted May 13, 2014 I will be on the cruise at the end of June 2014. I have not seen any post about the temperature on the ship. Is it cool on the deck enough to wear a jacket? What about inside...sleeveless tops? Having a difficult time planning my clothes. Please help...thanks. CruiserBruce Posted May 13, 2014 #2 Share Posted May 13, 2014 Come over to the Alaska board, here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=55 for all the Alaska info you will ever need. Layers is the name of the game. It might be warm, but you need to be prepared for it being cool.

The inside of the ship in Alaska is the same temperature as the inside of the ship anywhere. For formal nights I wore a strapless gown with no issues. Outside, well it depends. Everyone says layers are best.
OCruisers Posted May 14, 2014 #4 Share Posted May 14, 2014 Often it's more the temperature ON the ship. Often the public areas are quite chilly. I always take some sort of wrap. LuLu
Krazy Kruizers Posted May 14, 2014 #5 Share Posted May 14, 2014 The key to an Alaskan cruise is to dress in layers whether you are out on the decks or ashore. We have Gortex jackets with zippered linings. Take along water-proof shoes, gloves, hat, and portable umbrellas. On the ship we wear sleeveless tops and am always comfortable. But you may want to take some kind of a wrap as not all ships keep the temperatures the same.
