earthchild618 Posted May 18, 2014 #1 Share Posted May 18, 2014 I am taking my 7 year old on his first cruise next year. I want to purchase a few things for him from the Carnival site. If I do this, do they have the gifts waiting for us in the cabin when we embark? I think he will really enjoy seeing the cabin decorated, a beach towel, an activity bag, and a "funship freddy" waiting for him when he gets on. If I have to go pick it up at a desk somewhere on the ship, it loses something..... TIA!
facepirte Posted May 18, 2014 #2 Share Posted May 18, 2014 It should be waiting, but if not it will delivered later, last year my mom sent a gift and if I remember correctly it was there when we returned from dinner the first night.
KPfromCT Posted May 18, 2014 #3 Share Posted May 18, 2014 When you order from Bon Voyage, it usually gives you the option as to when you want it delivered. Day of Embarkation is one of the choices. We have never had any problems.:D:D
CruiseCrazyCouple0611 Posted May 18, 2014 #4 Share Posted May 18, 2014 You can actually call Bon Voyage to make specific requests. They will do everything they can to be accommodating. Be sure you have your booking info handy if you call.
kona_wahine Posted May 18, 2014 #5 Share Posted May 18, 2014 We had FTTF on liberty in January and our Bon voyage purchases were there all wrapped up and pretty when we got on board.
Aplmac Posted May 18, 2014 #6 Share Posted May 18, 2014 I pre-ordered a Carnival beach towel -and a cap. Months before the cruise. The beach towel was waiting for us, but not the cap. Luckily I had walked with a print-out of the order confirmation so I showed this to Guest Services and they assured me the cap would be delivered soon -and it was, a few hours later. . jjmsbu09 Posted May 18, 2014 #7 Share Posted May 18, 2014 We had FTTF and the cake I ordered wasn't there when we first went to our room but we came back right before Muster and it was. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
earthchild618 Posted May 18, 2014 Author #8 Share Posted May 18, 2014 Thank you all so much for your replies! I will make sure I print my confirmation of purchase and bring it along just in case of any issues. I am glad to hear that, for the most part, there were no issues and that the gifts were delivered timely!
springs741 Posted May 18, 2014 #9 Share Posted May 18, 2014 Most gift items are in the room when you arrive. The exception is perishable food items. Understandably they don't want a plate of sandwiches sitting for hours waiting for you to arrive. Cakes are delivered according to instructions when ordered and if on embarkation day after you have taken possession of the stateroom.
092306 Posted May 18, 2014 #10 Share Posted May 18, 2014 We've had some things waiting for us at embarkation and others that arrived later. Any time we've had the room decorated, it was done by embarkation. We ordered a kids gift for our son with a bear and beach stuff and that was there. Most of the time flowers were too, but once they came later. Chocolate and cakes have come later.
BananaAnna Posted May 19, 2014 #11 Share Posted May 19, 2014 You might want to consider waiting on the Funship Freddy - He can stuff his own (or a bear or some other animal) at one of the Build-a-bear type events.

GrandmaHofmann Posted May 19, 2014 #13 Share Posted May 19, 2014 We ordered Funship Freddy dolls for our two grandsons on their first Carnival cruise and they were waiting for them when we got to the room.
