Chefs table question for "suite or elites"

I think that you will enjoy the experience. Not only is the food delicious, but it is presented beautifully. We had a wonderful time, and it is well worth the money. You also get a nice cookbook as a gift from the Chef.

No, no priority. It's "first come - first served (booked)". But, there's a little trick you can use to maximize your chances . . .

If you have a friend living in the departure port, sign up for the "Bon Voyage Experience".

This is a program that allows you to sponsor (for $39) a person to accompany you on embarkation. as part of the experience is a private, officer escorted tour of the ship. Bridge, Galley, Engine Room, and one of each type cabin, before the occupants arrive. There is also an embarkation photo and a group lunch in the MDR for the BVEs and their sponsors. The BVEs then get the 'run of the ship', but must debark one hour prior to sail-away. Oh, and, if they book a cruise within 6 months, the $39 is credited to their account.

The biggest benefit is that you get onboard before ANYONE else. So, immediately after boarding, grab a phone and call "DINE" to book your Chef's Table. Then, join in the tour and have fun.

So, If you have a relative, friend, old classmate, or military buddy in the area . . . now you know how to be the first to board!

Thanks for the great advice. We were lucky to experience the Chefs Table on our first Princess cruise, then tried to do it on the second cruise but got declined. I just thought maybe because elites and others had priority. We will try again on our cruise in October. The experience was the most memorable of our princess cruises.

Is there any type of dress code for chefs table (non formal nights).

We would like to do it but dont want to get totally dressed up, but of course would not turn up in jeans and T shirt.

The 4 times I've gone everyone dressed smart casual & were told to have closed toe shoes for the galley tour.

I do not believe it is ever scheduled for formal nights. Just smart casual evenings. We have done it twice and will do it again. Both times were fantastic. I believe the Royal and the Regal have a special private dining area for it, which might explain the increase in price. We will definitely be booking it when we make to one of the new ships!

It is a lot of food (and booze), so be prepared. We hardly ate the day of b/c everything is just so wonderfully prepared. :D

They have a circle of lights in their Lumiere area & it's increased $20 to $115/pp.

We just did the chefs table on the Royal in April. It was our second chefs table and was fantastic. The Lumiere is magnificent as is the presentation. Every move coordinated so that each guest is served at the same exact time. Not to mention the food and wine, which is equally spectacular. We will definitely do it as often as possible. We also did the wine pairing table which was wonderful as well. If you can't tell we love food!

When I did this I had on slacks, dress shirt and tie. I was over-dressed. So slacks and a Polo would fit right in. That's what I'll wear the next time I get chosen.

I think the presentation makes up quite a bit of the dinner.
