Yes things do change, no way around this. So we are have to go with what is presented now, or not go, simple.

We cruised on X in the mid to late 1990'ties, when, IOHO, food prep and presentation was amazing. Then life got in the way.

RCCL Freedom in 2011, Ruby Princess in 2012, the Reflection last Nov 2013.

We all experience things a bit different, the food on the Reflection was so much better than the other's. This is the current state of the cruise industry. We can all yearn for days gone by, but they ain't coming back. We move forward, or find a different line to sail. Plain an simple.

Rambling done, have a great next sailing with which ever line is chosen.

Oh, for sure.

It's just demonstrating that it's not a case that something "can't" be done due to size or scale - or even that it's especially difficult or unmanageable.

It's just a case that it's something they choose not to do any more, to save money.

I rated the food above average, but it really varies cruise to cruise. I honestly don't think S class has anything to do with it. I have been on 25 Celebrity cruises. Food has ranged from excellent (from most dishes during the Michael Roux days to some dishes now), on down to just ok for some dishes on some cruises. I have had excellent food on some S class cruises, and good but not great food on others. Same can be said for M class. Overall very good. Overall not as good as it used to be. Better than the cruises I have sailed on Princess, Norwegian, Royal Caribbean and Carnival (although to be fair, I have very few sailings on these lines, and some have been a long time ago)

Yes, there are always available sides on the left of the menu. Plus if you see some veg on another dish you can ask for that.
