Celebrity and Solo Question for Lois and others

Thank you Lois!

I am just little nervous here. I know once on board I will have a wonderful time and will find many things to do or not do as I want to. I think eating in Blu will be a wonderful experience and hoping to meet a lot of new friends.

Our roll call is not very active, however the other two couples on it seem very nice.

Thank you again for responding, I appreciate it.

My sister and I ate in Blu for dinner fifty % of the time. The tables were so close together that we ended up talking to the people next to us including a set of sisters two times and a Canadian couple twice. They seemed to seat us in the same area each night. I ate breakfast by myself in Blu every morning and ended up talking to others at the next tables. I have traveled solo on four Celebrity cruises and have always gone to the main dining room as soon as I board and asked to be seated at a large table. I have had to do this because by the time I signed up for the cruises, early dining was closed. I have had lovely table companions and have even ended up going to the beach, etc. and playing on trivial pursuit teams with them. I think there is an activity for solos posted by the reception desk but I have never looked into it.

No problem.:) So you and your son are in AQ? I haven't been in there

on an M class ship but I have been there on an S class. It is much

smaller than the main dining room. The tables are also closer together

so hopefully you will be seated next to friendly folks who enjoy a bit

of conversation:)

I have been to Alaska 3 times and hoping to go back next summer(2015)

Hope you have a great time:D

Hey, Lois, I may be ready for a 4th time to Alaska, too! It's between that and the T/A. I have spent several days driving around Alaska and that's great too!

Well I have decided on my first solo cruise and have booked it! Going through the Panama Canal November 2015. I booked cabin 7003 the reviews for it looked great!

Hi Nancy, congratulations:)...those foward cabins are really good:D

I have been in the same one on Summit (sister ship of Infinity).....BIG

WINDOW and the room is larger than a regular oceanview too.:)

I have sailed solo on Celebrity twice, just in an ordinary inside cabin. I used to ask for a table for one in the MDR, but the tables were so close together I often ended up chatting to people next to me and made friends that way.

I didn't attend any singles events either, but I plan my evening around the entertainment in the ship's newsletter, which keeps me occupied, and then if it is a bit quiet I go to my favourite bar or the casino, so again you tend to meet like minded people there too.

When I sailed I'd never heard of CC or roll calls and still made friends, so don't worry too much if yours is quiet. I'm also happy with my own company, so if its just me I make the best of that too.

It already sounds like you are going with the right attitude to enjoy yourself. Hope you have a great time.:)

Thanks for a personal perspective on the cabin. Did quite a bit of research on CC and the wide world web prior to booking since I couldn't afford a balcony this trip! Got some perks tho to go with the trip which are always nice.
