LaQuinta Cypress Creek questions

Has anyone stayed at the LaQuinta Inn Cypress Creek in Fort Lauderdale? We need a place to stay for 1 night pre cruise and 2 nights post cruise and have a coupon for 1 free night at a LaQuinta. Is it in a good area? close to restaurants and things to do? Close enough to airport and port?

Hotel is in the middle of an office-condo park, very close to both commuter rail station and small municipal airport.

There is a Chili's around the corner, other restaurants and shops a brisk half-mile away on Andrews Ave.

I wouldn't call it unsafe, but you should be comfortable walking around urban neighborhoods at night should you stay here.

Taxi from airport and to port would be about $40 each way. Your call if the free night is worth that much to you.

But if you are renting a car it could work out.
