Is September 22/14 the first time Princess has offered a roundtrip California Coastal out of Vancouver? We are booked on this and I can’t find any posts from people who have done one before. I see they are also offering it in April of 2015, but is September of 2014 the first time they've done it? It's on the Grand Princess and the ports visited are Victoria, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Catalina Island and Los Angeles (Long Beach). I do know that Princess is being very slow at listing Shore Excursions but perhaps they have to set up contracts with providers for this new itinerary.

Yes, first time. Also a 15 day Vancouver to Hawaii and back immediately after the 10 day coastal.

There are already Roll Calls for both trips where there has been discussion of shore excursions not yet being available. You should check in there if you haven't already.

First time for this itinerary. Almost makes us BC people even with those lucky Florida folks, all we need is another 20 ships.

Suggest you look at the excursions for the fall California coastals. It will give you an idea of the type of excursions, plus price. Santa Barabara, San Francisco are easy to do, unless you want to go to the Wine area. San

Francisco has a hop on hop off outside the dock. Santa Barabara has a tralley that is just outside of the tender dock. You can get the prices on line and see if these companies will be value to your touring. Princess uses the tralley in Santa Barabara, and the hop on hop off for one of there tours.

Thank you all for your responses. Yes, I have been looking at the excursions for the other coastal trips. We did think we would do the trolley in Santa Barbara, and yes we plan to do the hop on hop off bus in San Francisco. I am just hoping it also stops at the new Pier 27 which will be where the ship will be docking. I understand there is more than one hop on hop off bus company, although I am steering towards the Big Bus one.

Princess usually lists excursions from 75-120 days out.

They have contacts/contracts far in advance with designated tour operators in ports.

Have not found them to be slow listing as this is the norm.

I am also thinking of doing this trip sometime by probably after doing Vancouver to Hawaii RT to see how IT compares to LA to Hawaii RT done a few years ago. BOTH will b amazing I know it. :)
