You do realize that Conde Nast's rankings are opinions too, right? I guess those rankings aren't "valuable" to you either... :rolleyes:

 

Actually, their rankings are NOT opinions, but a count of the different opinions of it's readers. Just like after an election, the final count is a count of the different opinions the voters have stated on their ballots. The counts themselves are not the opinions. When a candidate wins office by gaining the most votes, do you consider that win "an opinion"? Of course not! It is now a statistical fact. :rolleyes:

There are sadly always people who like to complain! Best example: A blogger on an Asia cruise, starting Apr 13, 2014 (Millennium).

 

I always had a great time on my both cruises on Summit and we are likely to book Millennium for Alaska 2015.

We enjoy the little things which differentiate Celebrity from its competitors, even from Princess. :)

 

So the Condé Nast Traveller certificates the Celebrity ships for a very good reason!

Some folks think cruise critic means all they can do is CRITICIZE. While a fair review finds fault and praises success, posts on here seem to lean heavily toward the negative.

We recently had a wonderful cruise on silhouette, where i said "i can't imagine them making this any better" only to read a review on here that made it sound like a horrid experience.

To each his own i guess, but the negativity wears you down after awhile.

 

in regards to the conde nast article, i would rate the reflection lower than the other s class ships as well, but its almost like dating the runner up to Miss America, still pretty darned good!

Anyone who has ever watched Dancing With the Stars will realize that winners based on "opinions" frequently differ from judges who can judge talent.

 

Unless someone has actually cruised on more than one line and more than one ship, how can opinions be valid. The best ships are always the ones we're on.

Never having sailed on Disney, I would not know if their ships offer a better cruising experience than Celebrity. However I agree that Reflection is my least favourite so therefore the poll is a good one because it agrees with my point of view. Celebrity has many good ships and it will be a pleasure to cruise on all of them again.

If you don't understand the difference between a highly controlled & regulated election and an informal, unscientific poll of magazine readers, there's no use trying to educate you. Awful analogy - those elections are themselves preceeded by countless polls, which just like this poll are NOT "statistical facts." :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

I was thinking the same thing. RCCL has to feel pretty good about this poll, with ships from their two major lines holding 13 of the top 20 positions.

 

Of course, Disney with all 4 of their ships in the top 5 has to feel pretty good too!

Another example of 'we can't agree so we all disagree.' Who is right and who is wrong? Does it make a difference? It is just another posting of opinions. Yours, mine, OPs, etc.

Can't we just except what is posted and move on?

We have sailed on all the ships except Disney. What is our Number 1?

All except Disney, because we have never cruised Disney and don't know anything about them.
