Best viewpoint in Tallin for pictures

Recommended Posts

I love taking pictures, and from what I've seen the city view of Old Town Tallin can be quite remarkable, so I'm wondering what is your favorite viewpoint in Tallin to catch the best pictures of Old Town? I know that there are many different church steeples that you can pay to climb for viewpoints, so I'm wondering if there are any that are worth the price or that are better than others? Also, is the climb along the town walls worthwhile for viewpoints?

By viewpoint, I assume you mean being on top and looking down or out towards the horizon.

Really, I'm not sure if there are any particular churches or building you can go into and get to the top to have a view of the city.

Most, like myself, walked up the hill to Toompea and from there you have excellent views over the rooftops, looking out over the city, even out to the harbor where your ship is

Again, Tallinn is real a hidden jewel for photographers. So much to see, not just views

There are two viewpoints in the upper part of old town, both well marked on maps in the area. Most churches have been converted to museums and the steeples may be climbed. Entry is usually only a couple of euros.
