first time cruising Posted June 10, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 10, 2014 Have been doing some research regarding the balcony of this cabin. Am I correct in thinking that it is one of the balconies that is half covered and half open? Thanks:)
san diego sue Posted June 10, 2014 #2 Share Posted June 10, 2014 Yes that one is partially covered. We were recently on the Island and had a forward Mini suite on Caribe deck C226 and it was completely covered, love it.

first time cruising Posted June 10, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted June 10, 2014 San Diego Sue, are the Caribe balconies on the Island bigger than normal sized balconies? We had Caribe balcony on the Emerald Princess last year and it was bigger than normal. Glad to hear you enjoyed the Island Princess as I have been a bit concerned as it is due for refit after our cruise finishes in Venice next April. DrivesLikeMario Posted June 10, 2014 #7 Share Posted June 10, 2014 (edited) That sounds like a fantastic itinerary! I'm not Sue, but yes, the SIDE Caribe balconies are much deeper than the bump-out ones and the side balconies on the other decks. They are half covered, half un-covered. Our favorite location is around the late 500's to early 600's - the ones that don't have inside cabins across from them (they're quieter and less slamming of doors). Rare PurpleHays Posted June 14, 2014 #8 Share Posted June 14, 2014 We have C616 on our next cruise. It's a balcony, not a mini, but I picked it specifically for the larger/partially covered balcony for my delicate red-head skin. This will be our third Caribe cabin--apparently, we like them. :D
