Barcelona embarkation morning question

Recommended Posts

We leave on the Liberty in two weeks and I'm trying to plan our morning in Barcelona. We are staying at the Hotel Regina and have purchased the transfers to the port. Does anyone know the general time the bus will be there to pick us up? I know we will get the info when we check in the night before but that won't give me much time to plan. Thanks in advance for any help.

Surprised when booking a transfer a time range was not mentioned. I would guess they use a third party that they have a relationship with, so I would guess a phone call or email is the only way to know for sure. Even if someone gives you a time here, there is always the risk they have changed arrangements.

email: reservas@reginahotel.com

As the same company probably offers transfers from disembarking ships until 10 AM or later, if I was to make a guess it would be between 11AM and 12:30 PM.

You would have been better making your own transport arrangements to the ship then you could go when it is convenient to you.

How many in your party? How much are you paying per person for the transfer?

If you are staying in the city of Barcelona, a taxi ride to the port is going to be 20 Euros or less. If you have a party of two- that is 10 Euros per person. I agree that the bus isn't really a great way to go unless your hotel is way outside of the city limits.

Thanks for all the replies. We are actually a party of 6, my parents made these arrangements as my mom has mobility issues. My parents are very seasoned cruisers and it just puts them at ease knowing things are booked and paid for before they leave.

Sounds like our family :) - 6 ppl with one with mobility issues. We are trying to arrange for our transfers now from the apartment we have rented to the port the morning of the cruise leaving Barcelona. Will be following this post.

You can get a taxi which seats 7 people from BCN Travel for around €70.

Depending on the level of mobility problems you could contact Taxi Amic for a quote. They specialise in transport for disabled people.

How are you getting from the airport to the hotel?

If they are seasoned cruisers, they probably do plan to arrive at the terminal at 11 AM to Noon and this will coincided well with the normal hotel check-out times.

That is not a problem for you though, if you want to see more of Barcelona, you can always board with the transfer and then those that wish could go out and take the Blue Port Bus round-trip back to the city for 3 euro each.

Normal taxis can be called or arranged in Barcelona for 4 or 7 passengers as well.

Once you know the time you can walk the Ramblas in the Morning. It is a different feel from when it is crowded. You can also stop in La Boqueria for some fruit juice.

Also, morning is the best time to visit the cathedral in the Gothic quarter. there is no admission fee in the AM and it id less crowded.

Thank you so much for all the great ideas! Sounds like a busy morning.

Was just talking to a co- worker today. He said," I hear Barcelona is a great city." I immediately had him view my pics and he couldn't believe the beauty of Barca.

Wish I was there right now. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it. Wish I was there right now.
