TeamBozo Posted June 22, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 22, 2014 Is a veranda suite considered a "suite" and given double days for the purpose of calculating Mariner days and star levels? Thank you.
Rare Vict0riann Posted June 22, 2014 #2 Share Posted June 22, 2014 I believe it is, if it's classified as a "vista suite" or at least a name with "suite" in it. At least I hope so, we're in one next cruise!:)

PathfinderEss Posted June 22, 2014 #4 Share Posted June 22, 2014 Though you have to pay full publish price for that suite to get the credit. Upgrades/up sells are not to receive the double day points.

If your stateroom is identified as a SA, SB, SC, SS, SY, SZ, or PS (Penthouse) category on vista ships, you will earn double Mariner points. TeamBozo Posted June 22, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted June 22, 2014 We are looking at booking category A, B or BB on the Amsterdam. They are described as Vista Suites and Veranda Suites in the booking engine. There seems to be some confusion about whether or not they qualify for double days. Crew News listed cabin categories for Vista and Signature Class ships. Amsterdam is an "R" Class ship along with Rotterdam, Zaandam and Volendam. The other class of HAL ships is "S" Class ships and they are Statendam, Maasdam, Ryndam and Veendam. Prinsendam is a class all by herself and was not originally built by HAL. Vista Class Ships are Zuiderdam, Oosterdam, Westerdam and Noordam. Signature Class ships are Eurodam and Nieuw Amsterdam. Any cabin that has the word 'suite' in the description qualifies for bonus, double star mariner days.

They are described as Vista Suites and Veranda Suites in the booking engine. There seems to be some confusion about whether or not they qualify for double days. I had the same question and contacted the Mariner Society which responded that on S/R Class ships the qualifying Suite categories are: PS, S, A - BC (Vista Suites) and BQ (Vista Spa Suite). Complimentary upgrades and special paid upgrades from a non-qualifying category will not receive double cruise day credits. If you book a Vista Suite but take a special paid upgrade to Neptune Suite, you will still earn double days.
johnmik1 Posted June 22, 2014 #9 Share Posted June 22, 2014 We had a signature suite on Nieuw Amsterdam on the last transatlantic crossing and HAL only gave us single day credits.I sent them an email and they correctly credited the double days so be sure to check your days after you cruise.
