Treven Posted July 2, 2014 #51 Share Posted July 2, 2014 After having dinner I go back to my cabin and pack then join my luggage with all the other sad sacks out in the hall. I then just stay in my cabin watching TV. I'm mopey enough by myself, I don't want to be around 2,000 other mopey people:(.
Havin'fun Posted July 2, 2014 #52 Share Posted July 2, 2014 I pack just before we go to breakfast so I don't have to keep putting it off the entire day. I try to pick cruises that have a sea day or two at the end so we can really relax and enjoy before disembarking. After lunch we usually are found in the solarium with a drink or two catching up with friends we have made along the way. After dinner the farewell show and then a last walk around the ship and the rest of the night is usually spent on the balcony reminiscing about the trip. pris993 Posted July 2, 2014 #53 Share Posted July 2, 2014 We usually pack 90% on the last "sea day" - so that we can relax the last day/night, since we usually have a long flight to face at the end. We tip the second to last night, skip the MDR the last night, check our on board account, check our travel documents for the trip home. Play bingo the last day (only day I play, have won a couple of times). Enjoy our balcony and try to get some sleep the last night.
NMLady Posted July 2, 2014 #54 Share Posted July 2, 2014 (edited) A popular question is "what is the first thing you do after boarding the ship?" But I am curious to hear what people enjoy doing on the last night of a cruise. RC. Sent from my iPad using Forums We take cruise longer than 10 days so the last night is spent packing, and then sleeping because we always have a long travel day on disembarkation day. In 20 cruises we have only had a balcony twice, so rarely can we spend the last evening on the balcony. Edited July 2, 2014 by NMLady
yknot13 Posted July 2, 2014 #55 Share Posted July 2, 2014 exactly! I used to get very depressed on the last day/night of a cruise, but in recent years have come to realize that we are so fortunate to be able to take 2, sometimes 3 vacations a year (dh likes land trips too,) and i just remind myself that all good things must come to an end and that there will be more wonderful adventures ahead. Life is good. Don't waste time being sad! amen
Krazy Kruizers Posted July 2, 2014 #56 Share Posted July 2, 2014 Nice dinner in a specialty restaurant with a good bottle of wine. Afterwards, stop at a bar and get a couple of cordials to take back to the cabin and sip while sitting on the verandah (weather permitting). Boozebabe Posted July 3, 2014 #59 Share Posted July 3, 2014 Well I pack all week long so I don't have it all to do on the last night. I pull the luggage out from under the bed and put the dirty stuff in. So the last night I make sure I have tomorrows clothes ready, put the luggage out in the hall and head back to the casino just as every other night. I stay up as long as I can, then get a couple hours of bawling my eyes out that the cruise is over.

griffy116 Posted July 4, 2014 #62 Share Posted July 4, 2014 On our last cruise we had everything packed when we left for dinner, with our clothes left hanging for the next morning. We went to dinner, then decided to hit the casino. Lost track of time and when we got to the cabin, realized that there was no luggage in the hall..and that ours was still sitting in the cabin. This was our 16th cruise, so we had no excuse for forgetting. We had to sheepishly go to Guest Services and explain that we had flights the next morning. They were incredible and sent someone within 5 minutes to pick up the luggage for both our cabins. That provided a fretful night hoping that our luggage would be where it needed to be when we docked. Ehpride Posted July 4, 2014 #63 Share Posted July 4, 2014 I pack before dinner and stow my carryon in the closet. After dinner, I go to whatever shows are going on and then spend time in the bars, soaking up last minute atmosphere. After that, I explore the mostly empty ship and get some last minute balcony time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Midwestern Cruiser Posted July 5, 2014 #64 Share Posted July 5, 2014 We call it "toes on the nose". After all is done, luggage is in the hall - PJ's on - bedtime toddy in hand we go to the balcony - lean WAY back in the chair - toes on the rail - and talk about the great things we enjoyed that cruise and what we are looking forward to on the next cruise. Priceless time together. Life is too short folks. That is priceless -- especially after you can't do it together anymore. Life is definitely too short. trixiegal Posted July 6, 2014 #65 Share Posted July 6, 2014 Just got off the Carnival Breeze today and didn't want to get off. Spent late last night after MDR packing carry on bags, checking sign and sail, cashing out casino $$ and planning my next day in MIA. Definitely like leaving later in the day after disembarking so I don't feel like it all ended so quickly. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
