Hi Sue,

2 questions please :

1. What type of suite are you booked in ?

2. Are you sailing before or after April of 2015, as new amenities will be added for Suite guests, during April 2015.

In the meantime, here's a link to Celebrity's website, where you can learn more about Suites, and their amenities : http://www.celebritycruises.com/htmlpage/celebrity-suite-class#&panel1-1&panel2-1&panel3-1&panel4-1&panel5-1&panel6-1&panel7-1

Hope this is helpful !

leaving in 38 days, not that I am counting or anything, we are in a sky suite

Hi Sue, I'm hoping you give a detailed account of your cruise when you get back . We will be on our first Celebrity cruise and also in a Sky suite! We are very familiar with the Concierge service on Royal, but are curious about what kind of service a butler will provide. Any advice on where to eat would be great too. Thanks in advance and have a great cruise !

We've sailed twice in a sky suite and did not have any out of the ordinary requests for our butler. We did enjoy afternoon cappuccino with our tea sandwiches that was not part of the tea, breakfast on our balcony and dinner occasionally on the balcony. My DH loves the shoe shine. We had several bottles of champagne that we asked to have chilled. Other than that we did not ask for much but loved over all feeling of being pampered.

You will have reserved seating at the main production shows. I've seen Butlers lined up at the entrance waiting to escort their passengers to the seats.

Hi Sue,

Thanks for your reply. I hope the link provided above, is helpful. The Sky Suites are well appointed, and larger than standard cabins. I'm confident you will enjoy the experience. If you have specific questions, please feel free to ask. Have a wonderful cruise !

Oh, butler service for breakfast is the best since you will probably have to get up early for your shore excursions. He/she will come in the night before and set up your table.

Are they pretty reliable on the times you need them to bring breakfast?

Yeah, just 'em what time you want breakfast. Even if they have to service other staterooms, shouldn't be more than a few minutes or so from your requested time.

We've sailed in sky suites often and although we're pretty independent, we love the butler service. Basically the butler takes care of YOU and the stateroom attendant takes care of the room.

On port days we always have room service breakfast. Whatever you want, if it's not on the printed menu, write it in. My standard is a bowl of fresh berries, a bowl of granola and a bowl of vanilla yogurt -- that I can mix myself. Put the menu card on your door the night before with your requested time. Your butler will call you on the phone pretty much at the time you say and indicate that he's on the way. Your doorbell will ring in about 2 minutes. We always use that as our wake-up call on those days.

I came down with bronchitis one cruse about two years ago and opted to stay home from the fun excursion we had planned in Dominica. Our butler came in a couple times with chicken soup, extra pillows, and some treats he thought I'd like. He was so sweet and for the rest of the cruise (maybe 4 days left) he kept asking how I was and if I needed anything special.

We honestly really just enjoy getting to know the staff who take care of us and our room, as much as is possible, given their many duties and crazy long days.

Typically we tip extra, above the auto-tip, and we don't wait until the end, we give it out every few days in increments. It is also customary to give a dollar or two for room service.

Sue L, congrats on the the Sky Suite. Is this your first Celebrity cruise? If so get ready to be awed by Celebrity vs Royal, though the Oasis class ships are also eye opening.

Have a great cruise and hope you fall in love with X

No second on Celebrity, but we are elite since we are diamond on Royal we get the reciprocal status. We looked at both Royal and Celebrity for this cruise but we liked leaving out of Amsterdam instead of england for Royal as we have been there multiple times. Plus they were running the 123 promo so we got free drink package and free tips, definitely swayed us in this direction.

We had a 2A booked and one night when I couldn't sleep they had suite guarantees available for 120 pp, was a no brainer and we switched.

It is our 30th anniversary and this is a bucket list cruise!!

We are on the Silhouette , 7 night Western Caribbean. I have been reading all these posts, and can't wait to try out the butler service for breakfast ! Does anyone know if X has a private dining area for breakfast for suite guests like Portifino's on Royal ?

No dedicated dining until next year. However, you can dine in Blu as long as there is availability. We tried all the meals, only told them once our room and were then just greeted on successive days. Love it for breakfast, not in love with dinner. However, they were really interested in our opinion.

I make coffee in the room, and the butler has helped with different set ups, bringing hot water at specific times and checking in on others. They're really helpful at getting you any snacks, etc, if you don't want the regular tea. Since traveling in a suite, haven't been able to go back.

Thanks for the help ! I see Blu is where you ate if you had an Aqua suite, but those rooms didn't appeal to us ! We will have to try them for breakfast tho !

We booked a suite guarantee a couple of years ago on Summit. We were assigned the sky suite that is connected to the penthouse suite and can be used as a second bedroom for the PH. It is decorated just like the PH. The bathroom was huge. Yes, you can get spoiled. We have gone back to regular balconies for the most part but have a grand suite on RCCL booked for this fall.

I had ordered flowers for my wife through the ships website. They weren't in our room when we arrived (like they usually are - I order them most of the time we cruise). I mentioned it to our butler and he got on it. Obviously they had forgotten them and by this time we were sailing so it was too late to get more. They delivered some and the butler said "No - these are not acceptable". He went personally and had them fix another arrangement using the ships flower supply. He was tipped nicely.

Every port morning we had breakfast delivered to our deck. They put a white table cloth on the table and served it just like in the dining room. We ordered from the card you put outside your door but as others have said if its not on the card just write it in. They will have it. It was delivered every time right on time.

They come around every afternoon with special canapés and snacks. Our butler learned I liked shrimp cocktail so every afternoon he made sure there was a shrimp cocktail available for me as well as any other goodies on the cart.

We thoroughly enjoyed our suite and our butler - you will have a great time.
