momof3cruisers Posted July 8, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 8, 2014 Early saver? Anyway..on our upcoming cruise, the rate is cheaper for the half year sale than when we booked E'S. Does matching that fair mean I lose out on future price reductions? It's been awhile and I can't remember exactly how this works.
Lovefuninthesun Posted July 8, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 8, 2014 If you booked EARLY Saver (not easy) then you can price match. You still retain Early Saver status. You are eligible for price reductions up to a few days prior to sail date. I'm not sure what you options are if you are booked Easy Saver, but I think they are more limited. riffatsea Posted July 8, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 8, 2014 IF you are booked with any rate besides Early Saver you still get all price reductions but ONLY up until you make final payment! Then no more after that. Early Saver allows price reductions after you've made final payment.

DMW/LAW Posted July 8, 2014 #5 Share Posted July 8, 2014 We book "early saver" in Feb. for our upcoming cruise on the Freedom. I called in this morning when I saw the prices go down. The difference is already showing up on my account!
Ehpride Posted July 8, 2014 #6 Share Posted July 8, 2014 I'm early saver and just price matched to it. My approval has already gone through. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Msbabynurse Posted July 8, 2014 #7 Share Posted July 8, 2014 I price matched for this Half Year sale this morning by calling carnival. Got a savings of 50.00 added to OBC. By the time I got home from work my particular category had gone back up by 40.00. Glad I called when I did. Nicoleakamama Posted July 8, 2014 #8 Share Posted July 8, 2014 I checked mine early this morning. The half year sale was $50 cheaper but the taxes was up so the final balance was like $12 more than the booked rate. mstery56 Posted July 8, 2014 #9 Share Posted July 8, 2014 We are past final payment and I always book Early Saver. Called last week and got $150 onboard credit with the Dream Vacation Sale. Called today and got another $150 onboard credit with the Half Year Sale! Just a few more weeks to go. Might get another price drop because there are still plenty of cabins available. Life is good! lisanj1329 Posted July 8, 2014 #10 Share Posted July 8, 2014 There's a better sale for VIFP members check your cruise deals section/past guest offers. Didn't know about it until I called in.

Didn't know about it until I called in. Good to know! I did get my $100 price reduction. Shows up on my statement as a payment. That seemed weird. Had to email my PVP as the price protection form wouldn't click through last night.
lisanj1329 Posted July 9, 2014 #12 Share Posted July 9, 2014 (edited) Another one was added yesterday to the vifp with $200 obc. Check again :) On another note... this is my first time as ES. I called in for my adjustment and received new statement via email. Do I still have to submit the price protection form? The carnival rep didnt tell me anything about it. kicia Posted July 9, 2014 #13 Share Posted July 9, 2014 You guys sure are lucky. Not only do I not receive the free cruises but I don't even have any special offers except the two category upgrade. Certainly nothing with OBC. Maybe someday we'll receive something.
lisanj1329 Posted July 9, 2014 #14 Share Posted July 9, 2014 Try signing in, click on cruise deals, past guest. It will generate offers exclusive to you. Good luck! I never get a free cruise either :( I think the casino generates those and I surely dont spend enough there.
kicia Posted July 9, 2014 #15 Share Posted July 9, 2014 No, I even checked again and there is nothing. Maybe because we're Diamond Carnival doesn't feel the need to give us anything extra. Maybe someday we'll receive one of the coveted free cruises.
mum2bradley Posted July 9, 2014 #16 Share Posted July 9, 2014 NOthing for me either. I booked in January for NYE on the Breeze. My ES rate is still cheaper than what is offered now. :(
loveysbydesign Posted July 9, 2014 #17 Share Posted July 9, 2014 (edited) so is this particular sale one of their better ones? I'm looking at maybe booking our 1st carnival cruise on the Breeze for this Nov. Should I book now or wait for a better deal? I'm concerned about the non-refundable deposit, would be $250 for the 5 of us. Edited July 9, 2014 by loveysbydesign
snc_cam Posted July 9, 2014 #18 Share Posted July 9, 2014 I have three cruises booked, Sept, Jan, and March. All are currently higher than what I originally paid last winter. So, from this, I guess I got a really good deal then. If I get an OBC prior to each cruise, bonus. If not, then what I paid is really good for the trip. If you know you are going on the trip, the $50 is a darn good deposit. Plus, if you can book Easy Saver, which for the ones I have looked at is the same price, if it goes down more, they will adjust your rate.
pbsteve Posted July 10, 2014 #20 Share Posted July 10, 2014 Don't forget to check your cabin mate's VIFP number, I never get the deals, the wife always has something. Except this time. No deals, Price is the same as it was in febuary when I booked, but 3.00 per person more in taxes.

Not for everyone. My daughter got the offer but the rest of the family, three of us, did not. It's killing me too because we need two cabins.
