Turning Platinum partway through a cruise question

Yep you will get all the perks the moment you step on the ship.

 

Your luggage tags should have priority on them. Be sure the porters put the priority tag on your checked luggage so you will get it quickly.

 

Just having my room ready upon boarding was one of the best perks!

Make sure the boarding pass shows you as platinum

Also make sure the porters know you are platinum. We turned platinum during our last cruise and did not get our baggage for a couple of hours after boarding.

Been platinum for a long time and didn't get our luggage til. 6 pm and yes, we also had the bright orange tags. Every room around us had luggage outside their room earlier than we did. Not a big deal, carryon was unpacked- everything else could wait.
