NCL Getaway with kids

Am considering the Getaway for this November due to the KSF promotion (currently booked for Disney World, but we'll see, lol). Im am a bit out of the loop as we have not sailed NCL since 2010 (have been sailing with Disney)

 

I am aware that the main pool is adult only, yes? Are there hot tubs that kids can use or are they confined to the kids pool?

 

Is there a quick link or FAQ for height/weight requirements for the slides and ropes course?

 

Is it true that the hours are limited for the slides and ropes course (I had read this in a review)?

 

Do they provide a phone/pager for when the kids are in the kids club? When we were in the Pearl, you just had to write down where you were going to be...

As far as the pools, there is the adults only pool and then behind it is a pool the kids can use. There was a thread a few months back with pictures of it plus the kids splash area.

 

There are 3 sets of slides - the 2 drop slides (100 lb weight requirement and no jewelry or other sharp object on suits), two other slides that use the same main steps as the drop slides (don't recall if any weight/height requirements) and then basically below the drop slides is one very tame slide for all kids.

 

There are various hours of operation for the slides and ropes. If your kids don't meet the requirements of the main ropes course there is a smaller version just under the main one.

There are 4 hot tubs near the main pool. Two of them are adult only and the other two allow children.

To answer the pager question, they will give you one if you aren't sure where you are going to be. If you say you are going to dinner at "xyz" typically no pager, if you are going to be wandering around and not sure exactly where you'll be they'll give you one. Guess they don't have enough for everyone to have one.

 

We had one about half the time on the Getaway a month ago.

 

FYI my kids absolutely loved the trip (age 5 and 3).

Water Slide Requirements:

 

For the Family and the Whip Slides, participants must be a minimum of 40 inches tall.

 

The Free Fall Slide - participants must be a minimum of 48 inches tall.

 

Ropes Course and Zip Line:

 

The Minimum Height is 48 and the Maximum Weight is 300lbs.

No Maximum height or minimum weight.
