Pretty simple question...I hope... We need to get to the airport after our cruise docking in Venice. Flight leaves at 11:30. Is there a problem getting transportation from ship to airport??? I know that the cruise line will let us off first (or they usually do) since we have flights but should I try to prebook trans to airport. We have done this before but our flight was much later in the day.

Thanks for your help

Just do self disembarkation and you will be one of the first ones off the ship. I would just grab a taxi. I assume you are scheduled to dock at 7:00?

We overnighted in Venice in June. There were several taxi/limo reps taking reservations for the next morning departure at the terminal on our return to the ship. We used Marco with Elite Autonoleggi limo service to the Mestre train station for 35 euro in a nice minivan. From his card their website is eliteautonoleggi.it, email elite.autonoleggi@tin.it, and English assistance phone number is +39 349 4113646 if you want to arrange something in advance.

The Airport Bus leaves Piazza Roma every 30 minutes and is less then 5 euros..

*Disemark the ship, take the people mover to P-Roma, grab the bus, and you're at the airport in less than 30 minutes

Thiat's what we for our 12:15 flight. We were off the ship before 8, at the airport before 9:30 but couldn't check in, they wouldn't let us until 2 or 2.5 hours pre-flight so we would have been better off to have had a more leisurely breakfast.

The bus was easy and I highly recommend it.

I have used this company for the last two years and they were great. The cost was fifty euros from the ship to the airport.

If you arrive three hours before your flight you will have to wait. Depending on the airline they start checking in anywhere from 2.5 to 3 hours before the scheduled flight.
