Miami Post Cruise Hotel

We've had a change in plans for our New Year's cruise and will now disembark on Saturday morning and our flight isn't until 8:00 pm on Sunday. I need suggestions for a post cruise hotel for 2 adults and 2 teen/adult children. We don't want to spend too much on food and entertainment as the NYE cruise is already costing a fortune. Something within walking distance of a mall or movies or some other type of inexpensive entertainment. A place with a nice pool would also work. Free breakfast, airport shuttle, late check out would be perfect. We prefer Hilton brands but are open to anything. Hampton Inn Blue Lagoon and Miami Dadeland look like possibilities. Embassy Suites is our usual go to but the Miami Airport one gets poor review.

Also in the Blue Lagoon area are the Homewood Suites and the airport Hilton, if you are chasing Hilton points. Not much entertainment around there - no movie theater in the local strip mall.

 

You'll find more entertainment, dining and shopping if you head to an area like Coconut Grove, but (maybe) higher prices and no airport shuttles.

The Courtyard Marriott is in the middle of a lot of entertainment, shopping and dining and has a fantastic pool (well, it's Miami, they are all fantastic here, we do pools well) and an airport shuttle.
