kerryincork Posted July 28, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 28, 2014 Hi All I will be travelling with my sister and 2 year old niece in October on NCL Jade. My niece will be 3 yo one week after cruise. She is tall for her age, potty trained and talks using full sentaces. She loves going to play school :-) if she sees the kidzone she will want to go in. Is there any leeway in letting her join the 3-5 yo kids club? Thanks kerry First time cruising with a child :-)

Sizzlechest Posted July 28, 2014 #4 Share Posted July 28, 2014 Very strict. My son is 9 3/4, but he got stuck with the 6-9 year old group.

Tiggertastic Posted July 28, 2014 #6 Share Posted July 28, 2014 Each age range has their staff trained for the ages and their liability insurance is also based on this, they won't do ant exceptions Depends on the ship but the last 3 we did they also had a 0 to 2 range
kerryincork Posted July 28, 2014 Author #7 Share Posted July 28, 2014 Thanks Folks! I thought this would be the case. I know they have a guppies age group for 2 yo. I just think she will be too old for this group. We will just have to bring our own crafts to amuse her with & hope she meets some kids on deck for her to play with. What is the kid area like on the Jade? Also she is 3ft tall & growing (her dad is 6'4" :D) what is the height restriction on the slides do you know? Just a FYI, the program for the under 3's isn't a drop off program - a parent hasvto stay, and hours are limited.

I haven't been on the Jade, but the ones we've been on with a slide, it was over 3'. However, the Spirit did have a kiddie pool area with slides in it that had no restrictions. Where would they draw the line, if they bend for a few kids? Just like starting school: districts have age requirements and can not make exceptions. I know it is hard for many to understand, but I do see the reason for age groups.
