P&C4/16/67 Posted August 10, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 10, 2014 Having sailed the Explorer many times, the old Early Departure setup was that you signed up at GS and was given a ticket corresponding to a time slot. You then went to Studio B at a particular time and waited for your letter to be called. It worked out fairly well but in June, they changed the process. They put out flyers with instructions and depending on the deck you were on, you were to report to a particular dining room or lounge where you would be given a debarkation number, first come, first served. Well, no crew showed up till about a half hour before the debarkation was to start and it turned out to be a disaster. By then, the venue was packed with everyone gathering outside blocking everything and every one who had been there earlier. When the crew showed up, they said that the wrong info was distributed about the numbers to be disbursed on a FCFS basis and it took a while for them to half way organize things. Just wondering what the procedure is now? TIA

Not looking forward to that the end of this month. I won't think about it until the day it happens. Don't want to ruin my cruise ahead of time by worrying about it. "Sea" you in a couple weeks. Looking forward to it. Gwen :)
Merion_Mom Posted August 10, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 10, 2014 Unless there is somewhere that you need to be, maybe just wait until the rush-rush-rush people are gone and out of your way? Just a thought. :)
lakelorain Posted August 10, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 10, 2014 We were just on the Explorer this past week. Did regular disembarkation. We had 9:45 - 10:00 time frame. Actually got off at 9:20 and only waited 2 - 3 minutes at customs.
