Yes...when returning to a US port you must go thru immigration @ show your passport, even if booking as a 9 day...very easy process, a Princess rep. will walk you right through it...as long as you do not have any inconsiderate stragglers ;)

Ypu will receive a letter a day or so before the turnaround giving you instructions. Easy Peasy... just go to the lounge they have for you and other B2Ber and they will take you to a spot in the terminal where you will wait for a short time before reboarding with your new key.

You will also have the option to leave the ship earlier and do things on your own in Fort Lauderdale or to take one of the ship's excursions if you want to. If you choose to do things on your own, you will not be allowed back on the ship until boarding begins. You'll get an "in transit" card to show along with your new cruise card.

Interestingly, we did a B2B on the CB out of Ft. Lauderdale recently and when we went through immigration we just walked through. Had our passports ready and they were not requested.

Will we have to vacate the ship or how does this work?

As you've booked this as a 9 day cruise and will have the same cabin for both legs, you do not have to vacate your cabin. Just walk through customs and then you can watch the "newbies" board.:)
