The Eden Roc is an iconic, upscale, Miami Beach Resort. Very cool place to stay.

 

Probably about a $30 cab ride to the port, about 20 blocks to the action of South Beach. I'd stay there in a heartbeat.

No, it isn't closer to the airport or port.

 

The port is on Dodge Island which is an island in Biscayne Bay. The airport is in the city of Miami which is the mainland.

 

South Beach, which is the southern part of Miami Beach is a barrier island that is separated by Biscayne Bay.

 

The airport isn't convenient to anything at all except for the airport.
