jkgourmet Posted August 19, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 19, 2014 Two senior couples staying for 3 days post cruise. We cannot deal with more than one flight of stairs and we would prefer a moderate to budget priced hotel in a good location. We often stay at B&B's and that would be fine as well (assuming VERY limited stairs).

The cheapest room only has a view of the inner courtyard, is under the restaurant and very noisy. Ask for a room with a view and you will be delighted. It has a great restaurant, with views to die for. Lots of good reviews on TripAdvisor. Edited August 20, 2014 by Laylam
flamomo Posted August 20, 2014 #3 Share Posted August 20, 2014 We stayed at the Acontraluz Boutique hotel, and were able to book a room right on the first floor, because we did not want to deal with stairs. That level was where the reception desk and the buffet room for their delightful free breakfast were located. We found they offered excellent friendly service from the staff, as well as a charming setting.

4774Papa Posted August 20, 2014 #7 Share Posted August 20, 2014 We stayed in nearby Vina del Mar, which was very close to the ocean and nice restaurants. Hotel San Martin, 4*, 1 Night: Price: USD 115 I know you wanted to stay in Valpariasio, but consider Vina del Mar.

Laylam Posted August 22, 2014 #10 Share Posted August 22, 2014 (edited) The Fauna has stairs, correct? An elevator? Reception is at street level and, as I remember it, there were rooms one flight below, some at street level and some one floor up. I would ask for one at street level or above & preferably one with a view. We thought the location was great, near lots of restaurants and very close to the Concepcion Funicular. http://www.tripadvisor.com.au/Hotel_Review-g294306-d2170687-Reviews-Hotel_Fauna-Valparaiso_Valparaiso_Region.html I should add we are in our 60's and I am "none too fit"!!
