nukesubsailor Posted August 21, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 21, 2014 Do the Princess alaska lodges have pools? We are on the Aug 30 MA7 tour from the Crown Princess but don't know if pools are available. Thanks for resonses. We stayed at 4 different Princess lodges last month and I do not recall seeing a pool at any of them. There are hot tubs however.
Rare geoherb Posted August 21, 2014 #3 Share Posted August 21, 2014 (edited) I don't remember seeing any pools either. We were at the lodges in Fairbanks, Denali, and Mt. McKinley. We did not keep our swimsuits with us. With all the activities going on during the tour, we did not have time for swimming or enjoying hot tubs. We had our swimsuits packed in the luggage that met us on the ship. Edited August 21, 2014 by geoherb
Pam in CA Posted August 21, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 21, 2014 Even if there were pools, they'd be pretty darned cold, particularly in September. They would have to be heated which would be very expensive.
Loonbeam Posted August 21, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 21, 2014 Denali had hot tubs. Fairbanks they use different facilities, so depends on where you stay. McKinley didn't have any hot tubs or pools.

redtogo Posted August 21, 2014 #10 Share Posted August 21, 2014 You could do a Polar Bear swim, like I see on the news during the Winter.

Loonbeam Posted August 22, 2014 #12 Share Posted August 22, 2014 Huh, where are the ones at McKinley? Never noticed them when we were there. We were last group in, so maybe they were shut down already? McKinley and Denali both have hot tubs--no pools.
Gabrielle R. Posted August 22, 2014 #13 Share Posted August 22, 2014 The hot tubs were up the hill at the McKinley resort. Very nice views too! We liked the views from the Denali & McKinley hot tubs. We walked back to our rooms... not quite like rolling in snow or jumping into cold water..... but it was nice and refreshing.
HRPro Posted August 22, 2014 #14 Share Posted August 22, 2014 Huh, where are the ones at McKinley? Never noticed them when we were there. We were last group in, so maybe they were shut down already? As Gabrielle R just chimed in with the response, the only thing that I can add is that they are situated in the older section of buildings nearer the Main Lodge, not in the new section. They are not very obvious unless you're staying in those buildings. Susan
