We are doing the America's Cup excursion with the ship's tour (RCCL). The excursion is from 11:30-2:30. The ship departs at 5:00. Is there time to make a trip on our own to Maho to hopefully see some planes land and then make it back to the ship in time? Best way to do this?

It's your call.

It will take 20-30 minutes to get to Maho, And you need a solid hour for your return. Traffic getting back can be slow. That doesn't leave much time there.

We are doing the same thing on carnival but our sailing ends at 12 noon.

We did the mid-day A Cup Challenge (only one our ship (Anthem OTS)) would allow) and wanted to do Maho after that. We were at the bus stop waiting for the Maho bus when a local advised "don't go" as the traffic coming back is slow and might not make it. Next trip. sigh....
