ravluis Posted August 26, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 26, 2014 Just received word from Carnival for my upcoming cruise on Glory I can move up a few decks. I'm currently on Deck 6, and eligible to move up as high as deck 10. Would anyone suggest moving up? Looking to stay close to Lido but also not hear all the noise that comes with being close to it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cruise-Crazy Posted August 26, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 26, 2014 How much?
ravluis Posted August 26, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted August 26, 2014 How much? Price wouldn't change per the rep. I called earlier because I noticed the price had drop and we have early saver. But just now I did a mock booking and noticed they're offering higher decks at the same price I'm currently paying for deck 6.
D4 Posted August 26, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 26, 2014 I recommend having cabins above and below your cabin. Personally, being on a higher deck doesn't mean much to me.
riffatsea Posted August 26, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 26, 2014 In general Decks 6 and 7 are our faves-midship and with other cabins above and below us. It does depend on the ship and its configuration.

I know if we chose deck 10, than below us would be lido and above us would be the spa and etc. If I'm correct.

missorahbaby Posted August 26, 2014 #8 Share Posted August 26, 2014 We moved up from Empress to Lido on our Dream cruise for next June. Same rate. My sister loves the Lido deck as do several others I've heard talk about it. I'm looking forward to it!
PinaColadaPlease Posted August 26, 2014 #9 Share Posted August 26, 2014 I was on carnival splendor deck 6-mid ship (6317)and loved it. I'd stay on 6 if were u...close to everything. I'm booked on 10 (1076) for my next splendor cruise in Oct...right behind seaside theater screen...I'm kind of excited, but nervous about being too close to the action. I doubt noise will be an issue. Sent from my Desire HD using Forums mobile app
Laurin612 Posted August 26, 2014 #10 Share Posted August 26, 2014 My family prefers rooms on Lido deck, but you have to check and see what is above and below you before making a decision.
snc_cam Posted August 26, 2014 #11 Share Posted August 26, 2014 We have been on the Lido deck as well. In the forward section, it is just rooms. So, if you can choose that, you will like it.
AdGuyMG Posted August 26, 2014 #12 Share Posted August 26, 2014 you have to check and see what is above and below you before making a decision. There are only cabins above and below all Lido Deck cabins on the Glory. There are many threads on here about Lido deck accommodations and noise issues from the open deck of the Lido never seems to be an issue. Take the free upgrade and have a great cruise!!! Lovefuninthesun Posted August 26, 2014 #13 Share Posted August 26, 2014 Lido deck is great! Location, location, location! And we have never noticed more noise than on any other deck.
cruisinbabe16 Posted August 26, 2014 #14 Share Posted August 26, 2014 (edited) Having just been on the Glory again this past November....the one thing you want to make sure of being Mid-Ship on deck six.....is you are above either the Clubs, stage or the Casino....which of course can be very loud. Make sure you look at exactly what is below your room. Also must say that we stayed on the Lido deck for the first time that trip....although we were all the way at the front of the ship....we never noticed any noise....even when we were just walking down the hallway. Very convenient!!!!! Edited August 26, 2014 by cruisinbabe16
ravluis Posted August 26, 2014 Author #15 Share Posted August 26, 2014 How do I check what's above or below? Just google the deck plans for glory? Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
PinaColadaPlease Posted August 26, 2014 #16 Share Posted August 26, 2014 I love the shipmate app. Download to your phone. Select your ship and view deck plans. It's good because you can use the up/down arrows to go from deck to deck. Visually easier ad you see it almost in layers. I'm going to be directly under the waterslide on ccl splendor on 10/11 :@ I also like this app to view the deck cameras and ship GPS. Makes my heart go pitter pat. WAHMto5 Posted August 26, 2014 #18 Share Posted August 26, 2014 We were on a Verandah deck (forward) on the Glory this past May and loved it!! We were actually moved up to same exact area on our Freedom cruise next month;)

My preference is deck 7 by the aft elevator- 7411 or 7409 so convenientl.. and no across the hall neighbors-- its where they store the fire door
KPfromCT Posted August 26, 2014 #20 Share Posted August 26, 2014 If one of your options is the Lido Deck, you need to JUMP on it. You cannot beat this location. Quiet. Convenient. Awesome!!!:D:D:D
k2excursion Posted August 27, 2014 #21 Share Posted August 27, 2014 (edited) If you want to talk about convenience, lido deck rooms are not the most convenient. You will have to take elevators to the dining rooms & all nighttime entertainment, and the elevators are slammed during those times. If you never go to the dining room or nighttime entertainment, than I would say to go with lido deck. But if you do go to those things, I would say to move to deck 7. That's the most convenient spot on the ship. If you can handle 2-3 flights of stairs, you can use the stairs for almost everything. No need for elevators. That's the definition of convenience. You would still need elevators for getting off/on the ship in ports, but that's just something you'll have to deal with. Deck 7 has only rooms both above & below. Whatever you do, I would say to get off of Deck 6. Some deck 6 rooms are okay, but many are directly above very noisy areas of deck 5. I happened to notice right under our cabins on 6 was the casino. Smh lol. So deck 7 seemed to be perfect. Thanks for the info! snc_cam Posted August 27, 2014 #23 Share Posted August 27, 2014 I had an opportunity to book on Deck 6 as a 4J but below that was Camp Carnival... I passed and took a normal cabin on Deck 7... :)

Any help would be greatly appreciated. My philosophy is that you should never have a cabin one deck above the promanade deck (especially aft) or one deck below the Lido deck. Nightclubs with noise through the floor or rolling service carts with noise through the ceilings. One the Glory that would be decks 6 and 8.
