In addition to more room, is there any benefits when having a mini suite?

Concur with Happiness as to the couch inclusion. That's where you will experience the added sq. ft. and comfort The balcony cabins only offer a single lounge chair, while the mini-suite offers the couch (queen-size sleeper) and a lounge chair. That is really nice if you want to snuggle and read, talk, or watch TV (on the second TV), and not have to sit on your bed to do so. We've enjoyed the bath / shower combo, not so much as to using the bath portion, but as to the additional space in taking showers. The shower-only could be a "tight fit" for us big & tall folk!

We like the additional storage space you get with the unit the sitting room tv sits on - nice to have those extra shelves. Haven't sailed the Royal yet, so don't know if that configuration is still in place.

We love the mini suite for the extra cabin space and especially the larger bathroom.

That said, on our Royal sailing, we are trying the deluxe balcony. It includes a sofa, and we enjoy that seating area on the mini for reading and room service. Don't know what we will think of it until we sail next June!

We also opted for the deluxe balcony on the Royal. It was great having a seating area. We found it to be a good compromise; getting more room while avoiding the higher rates for the mini.

Hi,

We had a mini-suite on the new Regal Princess in June and greatly enjoyed it. We were originally booked in a standard balcony stateroom, but we received an offer a few weeks prior to the cruise to upgrade to a mini-suite for a very reasonable price. Besides the additional space inside the stateroom, our room had one of the angled balconies under the SeaWalk that was significantly larger than a standard balcony.

We were upgraded to a mini on our Royal Christmas cruise. This was our 1st mini and we enjoyed the larger bathroom the most. The extra space was also nice when 2 people are getting ready in the morning and before dinner.

The small balcony was crammed with furniture (2 chairs, 2 foot rests and large table) making it difficult to more around.
