cessnabmw Posted September 8, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 8, 2014 Hello, we are first time cruisers and will be flying from either Toronto or Buffalo to FLL. Our cruise is for Dec 13 Dec 21. We will likely fly in really late, so will need a hotel for Dec 12th. We will also need transport to the hotel and then to the port the next day. On our return depending on the flights, we will need a hotel for the 21st and maybe the 22nd. Any suggestions, tips and help would be really appreciated. CruiserBruce Posted September 8, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 8, 2014 Which port are you sailing from? Miami or Port Everglades? Both are covered extensively for hotel recommendations on this board.
Marie51 Posted September 8, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 8, 2014 Some of the hotels near the FLL airport that offer airport pickup are Hilton Garden Inn, Sheraton, Fairfield Inn, Hampton Inn, Springhill Suites, Crown Plaza, and a few others. You would have to check with the hotel to see if they pickup late if that is when you will be arriving. The next day just take a cab to the port......quick and easy. Daisyloo Posted September 8, 2014 #4 Share Posted September 8, 2014 We are just down the highway from you OP, in Hamilton. We have flown out of Buffalo the last 6 or 7 times we have cruised out of Fort Lauderdale. It's a nicer drive for us than going to Toronto, and Buffalo airport is easy to park at, easy to get around in. Plus the airfares are usually lots cheaper than from Toronto. We have found good fares on Southwest, but there are other airlines to consider. As for hotels in Ft. Lauderdale we have stayed several times at the Hampton Inn Airport/North Cruiseport, and have it booked again for Nov. It is close to the airport and the cruise port. It's clean, comfortable, staff are helpful. It's across from a plaza with lots of shopping options. There are several restaurants within walking distance and the hotel will shuttle you to other close by restaurants. They offer a decent complimentary breakfast in the hotel. They have a free shuttle pick up at the airport. They have a shuttle to the port for $6.00 each, that is organized and well run.

RMH Posted September 8, 2014 #6 Share Posted September 8, 2014 Spring Hill Suites will shuttle you from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the port free of charge. The airport shuttle runs until 12:45 AM on weekends (Fri & Sat), so if you arrive before midnight on the 12th, you should be OK. We are doing a cruise this same day on Oasis and will be arriving late on Friday and taking the shuttle to the port on Saturday.

What can you tell me about Spring Hill? Anyone know which of the two is nicer? Thanks!
