edgee Posted September 9, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 9, 2014 We are excited about booking our first R class Oceania cruise which will be on Regatta. Considering A-3 forward cabins…7008 to 7023. We are always strict about booking cabins which have other cabins above and below us rather than public areas. It appears that the Bridge and officer cabins are above these forward A-3 cabins. Has anyone had any issues with noise from above for these cabins. Many thanks for any advice.

Our preferred cabins on an R ship are the Vista Suites just forward of the cabins which you describe, and we've never heard a peep from above; but then the Officers are hardworking professionals who don't have a lot of time for hijinks, even if they were so inclined. I believe that you may have seen An Officer and a Gentleman just one too many times......
beachwalker262 Posted September 9, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 9, 2014 We stayed in 7009 on Regatta with no problems at all.
oceansandseas Posted September 11, 2014 #4 Share Posted September 11, 2014 Would the balconies be windy? Would you feel the spray while sitting on the balcony? Have always wondered about that. Never been in a forward cabin. o

Never been in a forward cabin. We're discussing cabins just above and forward of the lifeboats, at a height of some sixty feet above the waterline (the second deck above the blue line in this photograph) it does not appear to me a more exposed location than any other, and the sea is certainly a good distance away. bbwex Posted September 11, 2014 #7 Share Posted September 11, 2014 We have stayed in one of the cabins facing forward, so we were right behind the bow. We would hear noises from the machinery when coming into and leaving port, but that was more of a wakeup alarm to let us know to go out and watch than it was a bother. There was a lot of wind since we were facing forward, but a cabin along the side would not be bothered by that. Though we will be staying in 7008 in December, and are looking forward to that trip, we were in 6001 the last time, I think, and we were not even bothered by any sounds from the lounge below. Facing forward is a unique cabin, anything along the side would be fine. No worries!!
