barb3246 Posted September 12, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 12, 2014 I see on their website that it says "We do ask that you please consume a minimum of $10 usd/person in food and/or drinks from our restaurant or bar." How do they know you actually spent the $10 pp? Can you use the facilities before you spend any money??
flounder315 Posted September 12, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 12, 2014 yes you can use the facilities. a waiter will escort you to the beach chairs. you pay $3 pp for the arm band and an additional $15 pp for the water toys and get a different colored arm band. the waiter will come by occasionally and ask if you are ready to order anything. a bucket of beer (4 beers) = $18 US i've seen people never order a thing

If you are going there and they ask that you have a minimum purchase.....it's only common courtesy to do so. Will they throw you out if you don't, not likely, but if they are letting you use their facilities for free, I would think you would at least purchase "something" from them. While I generally agree that you shouldn't take advantage of free entry to a beach club/restaurant and not buy anything, if you're buying the wristband at $18 or even the $3 wristband, you're not exactly using the facilities for free. We had the more expensive wristbands and shared about $10 in food. They seemed more focused on stopping the freeloaders who were swimming over from other beaches to use the inflatables than making people with wristbands order food. Feelin' Nauti' Posted September 15, 2014 #6 Share Posted September 15, 2014 This was our first visit to Paradise Beach and it won't be our last. Taxi is $14 each way. Which is a short ride. 10-15 minutes the most. After entering Paradise Beach we were told to sit any where. On the beach or pool side. No one mentioned the $3 fee. So we picked a nice spot under the shady palm trees on the beach. The grounds, beach, pool and restrooms are spotless!! One of the staff members politely handed us a menu and asked if we wanted to order....Said it was too early, later on...They didn't pressure to buy. After about an hour of lounging under the trees and a dip in the water, we decided to check out the pool. That's when a staff member approached us about the $3 fee to use the pool. We were given a wrist band to show that we paid. The pool was stunning... Had a resort feel... with a swim up bar. Picture doesn't do it justice. Extremely clean. Fresh water. Huge. They had loungers and small chairs to sit in the pool. I was surprised no one mentioned the fee to use the beach toys nor did they mention having to purchase $10 worth of food or drinks. No pressure to buy. I was very impressed with the quantity of beach toys they had. Way more than other beach spots along the beach. $15 covers it

Feelin' Nauti' Posted September 15, 2014 #8 Share Posted September 15, 2014 Snorkeling by the pier You will see tons of fish It poured for about a hour. To stay dry we stayed under the hammock area We knew we had to buy something to cover the $10 charge so we ordered Maui-maui sandwiches which came with spicy fries. DH order a Sol beer ( he always has to try the local beer) I order a soda. Portion was plentiful and very tasty. After lunch we decided to lounge and digest our food and enjoy the view. All in all, We had a wonderful day at Paradise Beach. The food and drinks great and staff were very friendly and speedy. Place is perfect! I will definitely be back. Feelin' Nauti' Posted September 15, 2014 #10 Share Posted September 15, 2014 I see the mods combined my review... That's ok. I forgot to mention. the waiter automatically added 20% to the food bill. Which was exactly what we were going to give.
chriscec2012 Posted October 15, 2014 #11 Share Posted October 15, 2014 Any one recently have a massage at paradise beach, what is the rate now/ does anybody know what the rate for massages is now? Trying to determine if we should do an all inclusive and add massages or just go to Paradise like before & pay for food, alcohol and massages separate. Thanks for the info
