attilamom1217 Posted September 16, 2014 #52 Share Posted September 16, 2014 Venice cruiser. You did get a great deal. I wasn't questioning that. Bi also understand your logic. DH would agree with you. Total vacation cost is still low. Enjoy your cruise. :) Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app

LRY229 Posted September 16, 2014 #54 Share Posted September 16, 2014 I just took advantage of this awesome deal and booked the Ruby for 11/3. $494 solo with $400 OBC. I may have a friend joing me but if not, I'm sailing solo. Ive been wanting to try Princess and for this price I couldn't resist.
tothemall&beyond Posted September 17, 2014 #55 Share Posted September 17, 2014 Congrats to all for the great deals. Question - if you don't use all of the OBC, then you don't get the cash instead? correct? Since you have to spend onboard, then the OBC does not reduce the cost of the initial booking of the cruise - it reduces the TOTAL cost of the vacation. So $523 fare (incl. taxes.....) does not equal $8 when you minus $515 in OBC. It equals $523 and probably no additional cost. Sorry to burst your bubbles, but feel free to let me know if I am wrong. I do agree however that $523 is a great deal for a solo for a 5 night cruise - especially with so much OBC to cover gratuities, excursions, liquid refreshments, etc. Enjoy your cruise Without going into the details of how, you can get all of the OBCs back in cash. Some are outright refundable by Passenger Svcs and others you can get out in a few different ways.
