Rare dickinson Posted September 12, 2014 #5 Share Posted September 12, 2014 I got the email with that cruise among others. Wish I could have taken advantage but it wasn't worth it to me because I would have to fly to take a short cruise going to places I don't care for. Times like this I wish I lived in Florida! Glad you could take advantage as it is a great deal! Enjoy your cruise.

venicecruiser Posted September 13, 2014 Author #9 Share Posted September 13, 2014 Ann - 400.00 from Princess 15.00 because I used an FCC that was about to expire 100.00 for completing Princess refresher courses ( I am an outside agent for a travel agency in Tampa, but I only book for myself) Even without the 100.00 I would have still gotten a great deal and it makes no difference to me where the ship goes! Claudia We are sailing on princess for the 1st time in Dec. a short 4 night cruise. I am taking an inside cabin for the first time. Hope we like it. I was excited with my $12.50 each OBC. On a side note I see you are from Venice Fl. We currently live in NJ and are hoping to soon having a place in Venice. We love it there. I would be cruising all the time if we were there. Would love to beat your ear on some potential communities.
LRY229 Posted September 13, 2014 #11 Share Posted September 13, 2014 I also received this email. I'm very seriously thinking about booking the Nov 1st 5 night sailing that goes to Princess Cay and Grand Turk. Amazing price $199pp plus $200pp OBC. Sailing solo it would be $494 with a $400 OBC so basically I'm only paying port tax. This is for an inside cabin - oceanview and balcony are also at a great price. I've never sailed Princess before so I'm reading everything I can find on this board.
Rare geoherb Posted September 13, 2014 #12 Share Posted September 13, 2014 We had a great time on a 5-day Ruby cruise in March. It is too short, but worthwhile if you can do it, especially if you don't have to fly. I just wish I could go this fall, but DH has to teach and I'd feel guilty going without him. Claudia We have a courtesy hold on the November 29 sailing of this cruise; $315 pp with $200 OBC pp. Can't believe that OBC of $200 each. We have to change the date of another cruise and change my vacation dates before locking this in. I see that Happiness Is Cruising asked you if you had "military" OBC. This is my first Princess cruise, though my SO has cruised with Princess several times. He should qualify for a military discount, but hasn't used it in the past. Could somebody please explain the military discount?

Disconnections Posted September 13, 2014 #19 Share Posted September 13, 2014 We just booked two of them yesterday for another B2B. We're stepping on that ship with slightly under $2,000 onboard credit between 400 per stateroom per cruise and our shareholder benefit for each stateroom. Sometimes, you can't say no and there's always the casino trick for unused onboard credit.

cruisehappygal Posted September 14, 2014 #22 Share Posted September 14, 2014 Hi we booked this cruise today also... such a good deal.. We have an inside room which is not normal for us, but for that price, we will make do.... We were on the Royal for a back to back in December and loved it, so we are looking forward to another wonderful Princess cruise.. we live in Sarasota, very close to Venice Cruiser, so we have a very easy drive to Ft Lauderdale.. it makes cruising very easy as well as affordable.. it won't be long till we are packing our bags... vacation fool Posted September 14, 2014 #23 Share Posted September 14, 2014 Sometimes, you can't say no and there's always the casino trick for unused onboard credit. can you explain that? i recall reading about it a long time ago on another thread but forget exactly what you have to do before cashing out. have a cabin on hold til tomorrow so eagerly waiting a reply :D thanks so much
Disconnections Posted September 14, 2014 #24 Share Posted September 14, 2014 can you explain that? i recall reading about it a long time ago on another thread but forget exactly what you have to do before cashing out. have a cabin on hold til tomorrow so eagerly waiting a reply :D thanks so much Transfer the amount you want from the slot machine to your player bank, spin it once then cash out at the cage. You can also take it out at the table games (3% fee) and take the chips that you can cash in to the cage. Some onboard credit, such as the shareholder credit, say they cannot be used towards gratuities or the casino, but it's never been an issue on Carnival or Princess for us. Onboard credit is onboard credit, except apparently the new terms for the shore excursion credit at Princess.
tothemall&beyond Posted September 14, 2014 #25 Share Posted September 14, 2014 Just booked Caribbean Princess Nov. 10- Nov 15. I am sailing solo. Got an inside cabin on Plaza Deck- my favorite. Pricing breaks down as follows: Cruise fare including insurance, port charges, and tax - 523.00 OBC -515.00 Cruise cost 8.00! I think the cruise has 2 sea days and goes to Princess Cay AND Nassau, but for this price who cares? We just booked the sailings for Nov 15th and Nov 29th. We are 3 people and we're each going to sail solo so that DH and I will make Elite and DS will make Platinum. The cruise cost for Nov 15th is $495 for everything, but I have $515 in OBC so my cost is a credit of $15! My DH and DS will have only $415 in OBC each, so they'll cost 80 each. A total cost of $145 for 5 nights for 3 people earning 6 Captain's Circle credits. Same story for the Nov 29th, although the cost is $30 more pp. We're sailing again with both of our DS's and one of their girlfriends on Dec 18th, but so far, the deal has not been extended to that one. I only have $190 in OBC and DH/DS each have $90. Waiting to see if they extend these deals into the Dec sailings... But going even if they don't, because this is a family holiday to which we have committed.
