Will I be disappointed in Palm Beach

They are different.

Water on Palm Beach is calm most all of the time, Eagle Beach can have waves.

There is more activity on Palm Beach and more people than Eagle Beach but it is just different, doesn't necessarily make it "bad".

I loved Aruba my first 12 visits and had only stayed on Palm Beach. It was only after that we we began staying at resorts on other beaches on the island.

As long as you know what to expect you should be just fine.

In all the other discussions you have about this issue, you state your husband needs to have shade, so I am not sure you have a choice. I don't know anything about the day pass. Do they actually guarantee you will have shade?

As others have said, if you MUST have shade you will have a difficult time finding it on Eagle Beach. At the Occidental, hotel guests will be out at dawn if not before trying to reserve their shade palapas so no guarantee of shade there even with a day pass.

For shade your best bet is to rent an umbrella from one of the vendors on Palm Beach.
