Cancellation question

I always like to be sure I understand the cancellation terms. I am contemplating booking the Regal Princess for April 2015. There are not that many inside accessible cabins left which DH requires, so I don't want to waste too much time and would want to book this over next 1-2 days. If I needed to cancel, I just want to be sure I have the following correct:

For a 7 night cruise, if I cancelled 75 days or more, there would be no penalty/fee, and my deposit would be fully refunded.

Do I have this correct? I read and understand the terms if it were less than the 75 days.

Thanks!

Prior to the 'Final Payment Date' - whatever that is.. for you it seems to be 75 days... your deposit is fully refundable. Obviously you know what happens after that.

Now, if you used a TA, they may?? have a penalty.

As was posted.. special promotions don't get the same guarantee..... but they are normally after final payment date ie. a sale that states "Non Refundable".

The suggestion to buy insurance is a good one. Be sure to get a third party plan that covers pre- existing conditions. Princess' does not. Also third party companies require you to buy insurance fairly close to time of booking ( we had to pay for it within 21 days of booking)

I also need an accessible cabin and as you can see we have booked for 2016 already so we get the cabin we want. Be sure to mark your booking NO UPGRADE, so you keep your accessible cabin. Princess has been known to upgrade people to a non accessible cabin.

What? They can upgrade you without asking? We just booked a Caribe balcony on the Coral for next summer and want the cabin we picked out.

That would be incorrect. As long as you don't have issues within 60 days prior to purchase, re: condition gets worse, medication changes, symptoms requiring diagnosis or treatment, then it covers. See page 3 in the explanation pamphlet:

http://www.princess.com/downloads/pdf/faq_answer_legal/Princess_Vacation_Protection.pdf

And for clarification of any individual issue, call Berkely direct (1-877-846-8833).

That's what I did for my situation.
