Okay, what is the conch grave yard?

Its an area where they dump empty conch shells. There are several around Grand Turk, usually in less accessible places on the northern end of the island. The one being asked about here is to the right of the cruise center and then down toward the south end of the island.

Okay, what is the conch grave yard?

When you exit the dock and make a right turn up the beach, there is an area of lots of old conch shells. Lots and lots of pieces, parts, and some good conch shells littered all over the beach. They are all pretty much bleached white, not like the nice orange/pink polished versions you see in shops. But, people find plenty of decent shells to take.

Are you able to still walk to the conch grave yard?

Last time We were there it looked like they were putting up a fence.

thanks

When were you there last? We were there in May 2010 on a cruise and there was talk about a "fence" going up between the cruise center and "graveyard" before we went. When we were there, there was a little wooden fence at the top of the beach with a gate that were painted white. The gate was open when we went and even if it was closed, we'd have been able to access the graveyard just by walking lower on the beach. I think it was just put there for appearance purposes and not to keep people from that part of the beach.
