CCLMischelle Posted September 19, 2014 #52 Share Posted September 19, 2014 Hi Everyone, I apologize for the confusion, we will still honor onboard credits for our shareholders. If you had submitted a request and had it denied, please resubmit it so we can apply the credit for you. Thank you,

PaulMedik Posted September 19, 2014 #56 Share Posted September 19, 2014 I have never sailed without some sore of 'reduced rate' and we always get Shareholders credit. With that said, we were denied once also for similar reason and I resubmitted and was approved.
Hotdog 52 Posted September 19, 2014 #57 Share Posted September 19, 2014 Well folks, I just received an email stating that I will be receiving my stock holders credit for my cruise. They responded in less than an hour.:)
FirstAlto Posted September 19, 2014 #58 Share Posted September 19, 2014 This was my most recent experiences.... Cruised on the Pride in July for my casino free interior cruise - upgraded to balcony for $120.00 = $100.00 stockholder was applied. Cruised on the Pride in August for my casino free interior cruise - upgraded to balcony for $120.00 = $100.00 stockholder was applied. I also would be very disappointed if this becomes another cut back:mad: Is anybody but me having a problem with this ??? I think if you are cruising with such a reduced rate there should be NO price deductions for ANY reason - and no, this is not because I am a Ravens Fan :D Come on Carnival -'use some common sense - oh wait, it's Carnival we are discussing LOL

richkinkade Posted September 20, 2014 #63 Share Posted September 20, 2014 For anyone who believes that Carnival's rules about this are clear, could you please tell me what "certain price programs" means? To me, it means some price programs qualify and some others (unspecified) do not. As an aside, I emailed a request for an OBC yesterday and it was confirmed today. winddawn Posted September 20, 2014 #64 Share Posted September 20, 2014 I've just received my shareholder OBC. :) I'm hoping this means they've reexamined that new policy and have decided to go back to the previous policy. I've asked for clarification..... we'll see Glad to hear you have a favorable outcome, John. I hope that the Guest Administration Coordinator Digna Alvarez that sent you the original denial email has been retrained. At least we all know now that if that person sends us a denial that we should resubmit. It still sounds to me like this is a personnel issue and not some new interpretation of the long-standing policy since everyone else posting on this thread has received their shareholder credit with their reduced fares. This situation is very similar to the experiences many of us have had when calling Carnival's 800 number where one person will deny a customer service request, and then a second call provides resolution. UpstateCruizer Posted September 20, 2014 #65 Share Posted September 20, 2014 (edited) Glad to hear you have a favorable outcome, John. In the past what I've seen with Carnival is when these "mishaps" happen and a quick retraction followed by a business as normal.........it's not long before something official is released stating they are clarifying policy. I sure hope that's not the case but I wouldn't be shocked to see it. There may even be someone that questions John and receives the "Nothing has changed and of course we will still provide this brilliant benefit to our most loyal shareholders" type response. Just sayin that this type of situation in the past tends to play out just as I mention up above. Now I can totally see why certain fares that may be free, almost free would be excluded from the shareholder credit. However if there are changes I hope that it doesn't include actual fares where people are paying for the actual cruise. I book ES rates for every cruise and from what I've experienced on my upcoming cruise is little to no price drops on my inside cabins. I'd hope that I'd still receive my shareholders credit. thinfool Posted October 12, 2014 #74 Share Posted October 12, 2014 To add to the picture of "competence" of some Carnival employees I recall a few years ago...a CC member posted that she had been denied the shareholder credit because she had 700 shares of CCL. The rules require 100 shares. So obviously she was trying to break the rules. It got straightened out, but it did little for our opinion of Carnival's help. figmentdj Posted August 8, 2018 #75 Share Posted August 8, 2018 They're at it again. I know the is an old thread but I received the same form letter email response as the OP. Its the first time I've been denied. Altough the OP was originally denied it was later honored. I saw that CCLMischelle said they'd honor it in an earlier post but I'm not sure she's still there. "Hi Everyone, I apologize for the confusion, we will still honor onboard credits for our shareholders. If you had submitted a request and had it denied, please resubmit it so we can apply the credit for you. Thank you," Any suggestions?
