computerworks Posted September 23, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 23, 2014 Photo Tour of the Navigator We are sailing to Alaska on the Navigator next Spring, and we had the opportunity to spend the day onboard to get a feel for the ship...and to see our cabin. I like to understand the ships we sail on, so this was a perfect chance to look around, talk to the staff and see all she has to offer. Let me share the tour with you in pictures... with a few observations from one who is new to the smaller ships. Certainly not a review... just a chance to show the cabins and the various venues. Best way is to walk with me from Deck 5, on up. Deck 5 has Compass Rose, the Main Dining room, and a set of Oceanview cabins. Compass Rose was a beautiful and spacious dining area, artfully designed. computerworks Posted September 23, 2014 Author #2 Share Posted September 23, 2014 Regent treated us to a splendid meal that demonstrated the care and presentation that went into their dining experience. Honestly, I expected a darker, more clubby decor... but found most areas (except deck 6) to be pleasantly light and bright.
computerworks Posted September 23, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted September 23, 2014 Leaving Compass Rose and heading forward, the cabins on Deck 5 are separated from the dining area by a vestibule that surely minimizes any noise from that area. There are two hallways of cabins, with room steward storage in the partition in between them
computerworks Posted September 23, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted September 23, 2014 The really neat part of trying to show you all the various cabins... whether Window, Veranda, Concierge or Penthouse... is that they are all the same layout and size. While the Window cabin has a nice picture window, the rest have a small (~50 sq ft) Veranda... but the interior is replicated throughout all those categories. Let's take a look... computerworks Posted September 23, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted September 23, 2014 The picture Window... It appears that this curtain can be fully drawn to separate the sitting area from the bedding.

sbtraveler Posted September 23, 2014 #11 Share Posted September 23, 2014 Perfect, perfect, perfect. Now I am getting excited with the updated 'real' pictures. Planning can start and I will know my way around the ship from your great pictures! Looking forward to Deck 6. Thank you.
computerworks Posted September 23, 2014 Author #12 Share Posted September 23, 2014 Up the stairs to Deck 6 and the Public Areas. This is the gangway entrance deck. I will say that entering the ship for the first time in this area was a bit deceiving. The center of this deck is pinched in by the lifeboats...and gave this location a very small yacht feel. That went away once we saw the rest of the ship...but first impression was "..oh. my...small." Usually Reception and Shore Excursion desks can be quite busy... I wonder if this is the eye of the needle when a cruise is underway? I felt I could touch both sides by standing in the middle. The GM's office... "...the door is always open." A little further in... is the Concierge Desk
computerworks Posted September 23, 2014 Author #13 Share Posted September 23, 2014 Walking Aft, we come to four public gathering spots... The Navigator Lounge... for coffee ..or a cocktail, it seems Across from this is the Library and Internet area
computerworks Posted September 23, 2014 Author #14 Share Posted September 23, 2014 A little further down is the Connoisseur's Club... the smoking lounge. Not totally airtight... we could sense we were getting near it. That's not going to bother us... it was a nice lounge. Across from the Club is a Multipurpose Room, for Cards, Games and Meetings These four venues were in a darker part of the ship. I would think that between Reception, Shore Desk and these lounges...that this would be quite a busy place.
computerworks Posted September 23, 2014 Author #15 Share Posted September 23, 2014 Further Aft is the Stars Lounge. I really was pleasantly surprised at the size of this area. Looks like a nice pre-dinner cocktail area.
computerworks Posted September 23, 2014 Author #16 Share Posted September 23, 2014 Finally, you reach the Theater in the Aft area of deck 6. Actually, a multi-tiered theater that occupies the aft of both Deck 6 and Deck 7 This place looked outstanding, what a showcase...with comfortable seating and great sight lines. Our host informed us that the seating capacity exceeds the total number of passengers... so no one will miss out on a show.
computerworks Posted September 23, 2014 Author #17 Share Posted September 23, 2014 Next stop... a quick dash up to the upper level of the Theater and a walk thru Deck 7... forthcoming in a little bit.
pingpong1 Posted September 23, 2014 #18 Share Posted September 23, 2014 Ron - The Pics are great! Thanks so much for doing this for all of us. I feel like I'm (almost) back onboard again. Can't wait till our next Regent cruise (and it will be on Navigator next year - unless the "money fairy" accidentally drops a bag of gold on my front porch in the near future and we can also take an earlier cruise! :D). I look forward to your next batch of pics. Regards
computerworks Posted September 23, 2014 Author #19 Share Posted September 23, 2014 Up the side steps from the theater, we arrive on Deck 7 ...and enter the Casino....about the size and mix of what I would have expected for this ship.
computerworks Posted September 23, 2014 Author #20 Share Posted September 23, 2014 Walking forward, we come to the Boutiques. Leaving the Boutique area, we are treated to a nice view of the scenic elevator bank that goes from top to bottom in an open atrium.
computerworks Posted September 23, 2014 Author #21 Share Posted September 23, 2014 Next up, as we continue our journey upwards, are some of the Suites on Decks 8 thru 10. ...Will post them later tonite or tomorrow; I have to match the images to the cabin numbers. ;)
xrvlcruiser Posted September 23, 2014 #22 Share Posted September 23, 2014 This is terrific! is there some way to add this thread to "sticky" threads so that it stays available. And maybe if someone takes a tour of the Voyagr and/or the Mariner, those could be added as well.

It would be great if Regent could post detailed photos and youtube videos of its ships. Rather than guests having to do this! Get with it Regent..have you tried to find good video tours of the recent renos of the Mariner , for example??

Rare Zqueeze1 Posted September 24, 2014 #25 Share Posted September 24, 2014 You've hit a homerun with this thread! Thanks for taking the time and making the effort to get some of us acquainted with the Nav and others (like me) to relive their past sailings! Any chance you can make it to Yankee stadium tomorrow and post some pics of Jeter's last home game? :D Z and TB
