Latest Boarding Time

Thanks, does that mean we need to arrive at the port at 3:00 PM or be on the ship at 3:00 PM? How much time should we allot for security/boarding process ie the time it will take from walking into the port to boarding the gangway

You theoretically need to be on board 90 minutes prior to departure. I would not attempt to even guess about time for walking, check-in, security, etc., as this varies from day to day, sailing to sailing..

I would not recommend trying to show up at the last minute. If there was an accident on the road coming to the pier, or something else going on you will have the misfortune of waving goodbye to your ship and your vacation from land!!!

Hello,

We are sailing out of FLL and departure time is 4:30 PM. What's the latest we can show up at the terminal?

I did do a search but I could only find threads on "how early" it was ok to embark, but not how late. TIA.

This is directly from the FAQ section of the Celebrity website:

How early do I need to arrive at the pier for my cruise?

Due to new government regulations requiring cruise lines to submit final departure manifests at least 60 minutes prior to sailing, guests are requested to complete Online Check-in no later than three days prior to their cruise. If you have not completed Online Check-in, you will be required to complete this process at the pier two hours prior to the published sailing time. Please note Xpress Pass guests (checked-in online) whose cruise departs from ports in the United States are required to be at the pier and checked-in no later than 60 minutes prior to the published sailing time or you may not be permitted to board. For a cruise that departs from other ports not in the United States, please review your travel documents carefully for your boarding time.
