Dspcentury Posted September 27, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 27, 2014 I was wondering..I am sailing with a brother who is disabled and was wondering if he would get priority check in? David..
missypriss19 Posted September 27, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 27, 2014 No. Not unless he has FTTF or is Platinum. What usually happens is they do have a special line for handicapped that may get you to the check in counter a little quicker and then you will be boarded with other HC persons behind Wedding parties, Platinum and FTTF. KenMo Posted September 27, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 27, 2014 There's no priority line for the disabled. If he needs special assistance, you should contact the Special Needs Department. specialneeds@carnival.com
elliair Posted September 27, 2014 #4 Share Posted September 27, 2014 In past times, special needs had their own line. However, some took advantage of it who were not disabled and ruined it for those that were. For an example: I saw a woman in a wheelchair with several family members behind her. They boarded before others and as soon as she boarded she got up and walked away from her wheelchair. I saw her dancing, walking up and down the stairs. It's reasons like this that Carnival stopped giving "disabled" people special handling like priority boarding. As said, purchase FTTF and you won't have any problems standing in line or boarding. cb at sea Posted September 27, 2014 #5 Share Posted September 27, 2014 Boarding the ship isn't like boarding an airplane...it's more like checking into a hotel.
Ducman Posted September 27, 2014 #6 Share Posted September 27, 2014 Marathon Dave This is Chris from the Cupids. Let special needs know before cruising. When Michelle and I board, we go to the priority line and ask for wheelchair assist. They are usually very helpful.
SadieN Posted September 27, 2014 #7 Share Posted September 27, 2014 Not so much priority boarding but assisted boarding. Someone to push the wheelchair thru the lines and onto the ship.
ccruisequeen Posted September 28, 2014 #8 Share Posted September 28, 2014 If you are platinum and he is sharing your cabin /booking #, he can check on and board with you.
