Barcelona disembarkation question

Our upcoming cruise ends with an overnight in Barcelona. Since the ship will already be in port and presumably cleared the morning of 9-18, how will the disembarkation process work the morning of 9-19. I ask because we have a 10:30 a.m. flight with a HAL transfer that day. Any concern about making that flight, which was booked through HAL air?

We just did this last week. You can do expedited disembarkment (meaning walk off with your luggage) from 5-7am. We did this for our 9:30am flight. We got off at 6:30am and prearranged a taxi through BCN travel. Glad we did this because there were no taxis waiting at that time of morning. After 7am you get assigned times to get off based on your travel arrangements. You will receive a form mid way through your cruise to select what kind of disembarkment you want to do. It should not be a problem getting a taxi from 7am on. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Recommend you check with HAL about the transfer and making your flight. If it is a flight through HAL you may have no problem at all. Quite often it takes a long time to get the bus filled, luggage loaded, etc. before the bus will leave for the airport. If you want an earlier taxi than the 7 am start time for the general taxis, you may be able to preorder a car as previously suggested.

We just got off the ship last Sunday in Barcelona. Our flight was scheduled for 10:25 am. I went to the front office and confirmed that we would be with the first group off the ship (two out of three in our party had this scheduled, the third did not, so we fixed that), we got our luggage tags and were in one of the first groups off the ship.

We also had HAL transport to the airport. Our group was assigned to get off the ship at between 6:30 am and 7:00 am. There are no announcements yet at this time, you just leave on your own. We got off the ship, located our luggage (which was very easy, as it was only those on our flight and one other flight in our group). We brought it over to get weighed and it was sent to the airport. We got our boarding passes, walked out to the bus and were taken to the airport, about 20 minutes away.

Since we were checked in, had boarding passes and had no luggage to check, we just went through security, went to the gate and had about 2 1/2 hours to wait for our flight to leave.

Very easy to do.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask :)
