Mr Abbott was complaining that there was no shimmering water, so they needed to clean it, by late afternoon there should be a light shimmer all the way to Parramatta.:p

I agree with benjoon. Dame Marie Bashir was taken across the harbour on a police launch for her outgoing ceremony as Governor General. The water salute was to honour her.
