Grand Cayman Beach

Can anyone tell me if there is a beach within walking distance of the cruise ship docks? Carnival Dream will be in Grand Cayman on Christmas Day and with most businesses closed and taxi service limited, it looks like we'll be walking to a beach.

yep and it is 7 miles long ....

 

exit the tender area and turn left

 

but then again

 

"walking distance" is not a standard unit of measure

 

if you turn right you can walk to Smith's Cove ... 1.5 miles .... IMO a short walk ....

 

btw if you do this (right) walk .. you'll pass Sunset House and I'll bet their bar will be open and serving food .... since the hotel will be open! Walkin's are always welcome IME

 

Sunset is about .8 miles south of the tender landing

 

I've heard their bar is pretty good

Actually, 7 Mile Beach is NOT 7 miles long....just a tad over 6 miles, I think! Whatever....there is a bus, $2.50 pp that will drop and pick up all along the beach. You don't want to be right next to the ships...dirty! If you hop on the bus, ask to get off in the Seagrape area....rentals, food/drink, restrooms, etc...all there for your pleasure!
